A glimpse of the future
Woo, my 200th submission on FA! And only a month and a half after the 199th! ^.^ So to celebrate, here's something a little bit different...
People often ask me what Zee-Zee's going to be like when he's older, and I normally say I don't know, because I'm pretty sure he's always going to be two-and-a-bit. But so many of you seem to want to know, and while I can't see him as a teenager, exactly (I'm sorry, it's quite a long time since I was a teen in real life, and I can't really remember most of it ^.^), I can just about picture how he's going to look just before the onset of puberty:
It's twelve years in the future, and the Squirrel family has expanded a little since you last saw them. 14-year-old Zee-Zee now shares his home (they've moved to a bigger place) with his nearly-12-year-old sister Kit, one of his best friends who he shares most of his adventures with; their six-year-old sister Red, who's even more hyperactive than the rest of the family; and two-and-a-bit-year-old baby brother Tizzy, who everyone says reminds them of Zee at that age, except that he flatly refuses to give up his diapers ^.^

Y'know, there are so many different incarnations of Toroth floating about (the D&D version, the children's book version, etc...) but I always figured that when he's a teen, while Toroth will (duh) still be an AB, he will also be a huge astronomy geek and an amateur DJ/remixer.
Well, somehow I am not surprised that your squirelly alter-ego is into anything clever and brainy.

Makes me want to write a story based in said future.... oh wait, already have an idea for one. Very cute Zee-Zee. Glad to see you drawing again. But even though you'd really be a big squirrel at that age, one little squotter's always gonna remember the younger days. Especially when they seem to give more ground to his suspicions about a certain squirrel secretly liking something. *giggles*
Yep, that's the one main reason why growing up is a very bad idea. Cuteness ebbs away over time, and it's terribly sad! *snaps back to being two-and-a-bit again* Yay, that's better! And I'm practically big and clever enough to do everything fourteen-year-olds can do, anyway! It's win-win! ^.^
*pokes around under Zee-Zee bed* its cozy under here *bumps into something* eeep a pack of squirrel undies ewww! *silly face* wait a moment... since when do undies come in packs? *turns out to be a pack of night time underwear* hee hee I knew making your bladder try to hold it that early was a bad idea X3
Kazootles! There's never a dull moment in Zee-Zee's life, is there? I wonder how things are with his cousins and other relates around this particular point in the clever squirrel time-line? :)

Heehee, thanks, Yosh! *hugs* At this point, Sammy's 16, and going through a sort of sulky-teenager phase, but don't worry, he'll grow out of it soon enough ^.^ And for some reason it's just popped in to my head as if it's an undeniable biographical fact that Zee-Zee's Uncle Mark is about to get married in a couple of weeks from this point, and of course the whole family will be turning out to the wedding! ^.^
Gabby-Gaboo! I was actually wondering how Mark would've been doing all this time. I've been a fan of his since that story you wrote way-back and I think, if anyone deserves happiness, it is him. After all, he's an overall good guy who does his best to be the greatest dad ever. How can you not root for the fellow? :)
Yep, he's a great favourite of mine, too, and I've always wanted to do something more with him! And yep, he's going to be very happy, after many years of little or no romantic life while he's been raising Sammy, he definitely deserves it! ^.^ Also, because Sammy was born when he was so young, he's still only 33 in this time period, and he's gonna have plenty of time to catch up on any of the fun young-adult stuff he's missed out on over the years - plus nowadays he's fairly well-off for money, too! I should write a story about this...
That would be a splendid idea! Getting to see how an older Sammy would react to having a new person to call his mother would definately make for some fun reading. Especially considering what you have recently noted about him here coupled with the fact he would be a teenager by this point.
At first thoughts, I could see there being lots of drama and love throughout the entire tale. Furthermore, seeing how Mark and Sammy discuss the forthcoming wedding and how each of them feel about it based on their past would certainly be an enjoyable and heartwarming read. :) Oopa!
