I think of Malana as a villain, maybe because she hates David Perriere so much despite his goodwill and reasoning with horny unreliable narrator Leilani Perriere and her younger second love, Thierry Savage. She is Leilani's arrogant, dangerous, hypocritical foil who kills people and poaches monsters just for her status and the tribe, and I fear that she'll sooner or later betray Leilani and her loved ones in The Depths, just like Big Smoke betrayed Carl and his loved ones in GTA: San Andreas.
