Entering KatNee Movie Date, "Katney's Never Seen 'The Avengers'" initiated. Here we are, finally at the end of the MCU's Phase One! I'll finally get to show off more of MY artwork on MY art page again! XD So after Nee and I took a short break from watching movies he started going "CanWeWatchMCU" by February, maybe even sooner. On the 3rd, 6th, 11th, and 14th we watched all the official MCU movies after Iron Man in anticipation for this one. He's such a big kid. ^^ And this was before it was decided that I develop headaches after watching new movies, especially long movies. Whoever invented Excedrin, thank you. XD Luckily he allowed me a 10-day break before we sat down for the 2 1/2 hour film. X3
Title Card: Nee decided that for such a grand occasion the title card should be played fairly straightforward with our fursonas cloned and each playing an Avenger. ... And a feline version of Samuel L Mother(toast)ing Jackson as Nick Fury. ^^ For this one Nee shifted his "Katney's Never Seen" title card duties over to our friend Aerokat, creator of such webcomics as Starfire Agency and Nightshift among others. When her drawing tablet was dying a few weeks ago I started to panic a little, but thankfully it worked out and she REALLY outdid herself. ^^ ... Too bad Nee did have to do an Avengers title card, but more on that later.
Once again, Da Rulez!
1) We watch these movies from our respective countries. We log into our internet messenger of choice, choose a movie, count down to start, and type our reactions and commentary accordingly.
2) It has to be a movie only one of us has seen before. The only exception is if it's part of a film series and one of us wishes to watch it together, but it will still be added to their movie total tally. (Example: Katney's already seen Batman Forever, but Nee wants it included in the Movie Date entries.)
3) If neither of us has seen a particular movie one of us has to watch it first. Besides syncing issues leading to possible spoilers who would draw the title card? X3
4) Movies that we've seen before but haven't watched in several years and remember very little of may be included.
5) Movies that have only been seen in bits and pieces may be included as long as certain plot points/twists haven't been revealed. There may be some minor exceptions if it's included in a film series and/or heavily parodied.
6) TV and internet shows will be included. One disk/season will be considered one movie. 5 to 6 episodes maximum per viewing and marked as a completed movie by the end of the disk/season. Internet shows without a physical copy will be calculated either by episode run times or by season.
7) While Katney does her best to add movie descriptions these logs are from some time ago and some of our reactions may have to be taken out of context.
8) The logs will be posted as they were originally written, except self-corrected typos will be removed and some strong language will be censored. The censored word will usually be replaced with "(toast)" or some other variation depending on the situation. There may be some films where this rule will be ignored.
9) In the descriptions the actor's name may only be listed in regards to the character they play if we refer to them as such or as another character they've played in our commentary.
10) Movies are watched from beginning to end, so if you intend to watch these movies beware of spoilers.
11) More rules can be added at any time.

(The Paramount Pictures logo plays within the Tesseract, the glowing blue MacGuffin cube from the previous film. Voiceover by "The Other" reveals to another that the Tesseract is active. Up a flight of unusual stairs a figure is handed a pointed staff with a glowing stone. An alien army, the Chitauri, will follow the figure, their ally. "The world will be his. The universe, yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?")
Katney: It's still Paramount?
Katney: Ooo it's the square thingy

Katney: Good. XD
(A helicopter flies towards the Joint Dark Energy Mission at dusk. An evacuation is underway as the helicopter lands before SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson. Agent Maria Hill and SHIELD Director Nick Fury step out of the helicopter. "How bad is it?" Fury asks Coulson. "That's the problem, sir. We don't know." They travel down an elevator shaft to a testing area underground. Coulson reveals there had been an energy surge from the Tesseract when no one was present, effectively turning itself on. They're unable to shut it down so the evacuation began.)
Katney: Helicopter

(Hill believes an evacuation may be futile; there's no minimum safe distance if they can't control its energy. Fury orders that the Phase 2 prototypes be loaded into a truck and shipped out. Fury enters a chamber where Erik Selvig is examining the Tesseract in a holding container, saying it is "misbehaving" and because it's an energy source the power can't be cut without it being turned back on. Selvig also reveals that it is throwing off low levels of gamma radiation. "Where's Agent Barton?" "The Hawk? Up in his nest, as usual." Selvig gestures to Clint Barton aka Hawkeye perched up in the rafters until he is called down by Fury. "Have you seen anything that might set this thing off?" "No one's come or gone. (...) If there was any tampering, sir, it wasn't at this end." "'At this end'?" "Yeah, the Cube is a doorway to the other end of space, right? Doors open from both sides.")

(At that moment light radiates and energy pulses from the Tesseract, the whole compound begins to shake. Everyone stands and watches as the Tesseract begins to glow brighter and looks like it is about to fire a beam across the room... which it does. A portal into space opens at the far end of the room, then the light dissipates around the room. A figure kneels on the platform where the portal was. The figure lifts his head... revealing it to be Loki, Thor's adopted brother, with a wide smile on his face and wielding the staff with the glowing stone seen in the opening.)
Nee: ... errrrm...
Katney: Um... outta the way, guys!
Nee: panic!
Katney: STUFF IS HAPPENING
Nee: Who will it be!
Katney: Thor? :3
Nee: ODIN1
Katney: ... Loki, ho (toast)
(Fury directs Loki to put his weapon down, who responds by firing a beam at Fury, but Barton pushes Fury out of harm's way. Loki attacks and kills armed gunmen around the room. The room quiets as people are either dead or knocked down. Loki approaches Barton as he struggles back to his feet and deflects Loki's spear. "You have heart." Loki places the tip of his spear to Barton's chest, causing energy to flow into him. Barton's eyes turn black, and then the same colored blue as the spear. He is now Loki's willing puppet.)
Nee: ... he's a badguy... ain;t he>_>
Katney: ... He just broke stuff XD And killed guys
Nee: O.o yeah... them guys are dead
Katney: GAH, Hawkeye's getting funky eyes
(Fury removes the Tesseract from its mount and puts it into an armored briefcase, moving to leave with it. "Please, don't," Loki tells him. "I still need that. (...) I am Loki of Asgard and I am burdened with glorious purpose." Selvig realizes that Loki is Thor's brother.)
Katney: .... How was Fury able to touch that?!
Nee: ... I am sure he's oka- oh dear
Nee: Gloves
Katney: Lucky
Katney: Selvig remembers
("We have no quarrel with your people," Fury tells Loki. "An ant has no quarrel with a boot." Loki intends to free the world from freedom, "life's great lie". He turns to Selvig and puts him under his control with his spear as well. "Once you accept that, in your heart... you will know peace." "Yeah, you say 'peace', I kind of think you mean the other thing." Barton tells Loki that Fury is stalling, as the facility is about to blow and bury them as the portal above them is about to collapse in on itself. On Loki's command Barton shoots Fury and then grabs the briefcase containing the Tesseract and leaves with Loki, Selvig, and another possessed agent.)
Nee: The ant has no quail with a boot
Katney: Now he's got Selvig!
Katney: FURY!!
Nee: O.o well... he is dead... hawkeye is called that for a reason
(They move into a loading bay past Agent Hill. Barton tells her they need the vehicles, Loki gets into the back of a truck bed. Fury is still alive, however, and contacts Hill on the radio alerting her that Barton has turned. Barton fires at her as she ducks for cover. He then gets into the truck with Selvig in the passenger seat and begins to drive off, followed by the other agent in a car. Fury runs out of the chamber as the portal begins to expand out of control. "They have the Tesseract! Shut them down!" Hill jumps into another truck and pursues them.)
Katney: Am I suppose to know Hill? Is she Widow?
Katney: No, wait, Scarlet Johanson was Widow
Nee: No ^^ she is a sheild agent like Coulson...
Katney: Mmkay then
(Loki fires his spear at a pursuing car, causing it to flip and crash, blocking the tunnel. Hill merges from a connecting tunnel and follows Barton's truck. Coulson escapes in a car as Fury escapes in his helicopter shortly before the portal tears through the facility, causing it to collapse in on itself. The tunnel collapses behind Hill and eventually buries the truck she is in, though Barton escapes with Selvig and Loki.)
Katney: Roadblock!

(Fury's helicopter hovers over Barton's truck, he leans out and fires at them until Loki shoots down the helicopter with his spear. Fury jumps out before it crashes and Barton drives out of range. Coulson contacts Fury on the radio, where Fury reveals that Loki got away with the Tesseract. Hill, alive, climbs out of her truck. Fury orders everyone to look for the Tesseract. "Coulson, get back to base. This is a Level Seven. As of right now, we are at war." The movie's title appears on screen.)
Nee: HILL!
Katney: She can get outta that. <_<
Katney: LEVEL 7
Katney: Time to assemble

Nee: Title screen
(A train passes close to the camera and blares its horn. It runs past a dimly lit warehouse where we find, on an upper platform, an older man in an army officer's uniform punching a woman tied to a chair. We see that it is Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, played again by Scarlett Johansson. They converse in Russian, where the man is interrogating her [or is it the other way around?]. She mentions information that turns out to be outdated, leading the man, a general, to think the famous Black Widow is just another pretty face. A henchman forces her mouth open as the general goes over to a set of tools, picking up a pair of metal pliers. A second henchman answers a ringing phone... who reveals that the call is for her.)
Katney: Train train!
Nee: TRAAAAIN ::like CAAAAAAT::
Katney: Theeeeeeeeere's Widow
Nee: Widow's in troooouble
Nee: who's gonna save her?
Katney: She is? ^^;
Katney: Torture devices >_>
Nee: eeee... <_<
Nee: ... it's... for you
Katney: Heehee
(The general takes the phone, Agent Coulson is on the other end. "You're at 1-14 Silensky Plaza, 3rd floor. We have an F-22 exactly eight miles out. Put the woman on the phone or I will blow up the block before you can make the lobby." The general gives the phone to Natasha. Coulson tells her to come in, but she protests that she's in the middle of an interrogation. "This moron is giving me everything." "I don't give everything," the general says. Once Coulson reveals that Barton has been compromised, however, Natasha puts him on hold. As soon as the general removes the phone Natasha kicks him hard in the knee. ... And... like her fight in Iron Man 2 I'm not even gonna try to follow her fight while she's tied to a chair. She's still a toasting badass. Coulson waits patiently on the other end with a neutral expression as he hears the fight on the other end. Natasha broke free of her chair and took out the bad guys, the end. X3)

(Natasha asks about Barton, who is alive but his whereabouts are unknown. She's instructed that she first has to talk to "the big guy." Natasha assumes he means Tony Stark, but Coulson reveals he'll talk to him. "You get the big guy." Natasha pauses when she realizes... he means THE BIG GUY. >_> Oh, toast.)

Nee: O,o who's the big guy
(In Calcutta [or Kolkata], India, a young girl races through a busy street to reach a flight of stairs in an alley. A woman stares down at her and tells her to leave as the doctor is treating sick children. The girl tells the woman that her father is also sick and needs help. The doctor, Bruce Banner, previously played by Edward Norton and now by Mark Ruffalo, follows the girl to an isolated shack. The girl runs through the shack, into a bedroom, and then climbs out the window, leaving the doctor alone. "... You should've got paid up front, Banner.")
Katney: ... Forgein area... guessing Bruce
Katney: ... Issat Bruce?
Nee: yeah... sorry pause
Katney: Paused on "You should've got paid up front, Banner"
Nee: so sorry about that... dad decided to phone rather than toasting text becuase I sent him I was gonna be watching a toasting movie and it seems he wannted to annoy me -_- Okay he didn't, he phoned to let me know how nan was but the result is the same

(Natasha steps out from the shadows, commenting that for a guy looking to avoid stress he picked a hell of a place to settle. "Avoiding stress isn't the secret." "Then what is it? Yoga?" Bruce assumes they're surrounded, but Natasha tells him, "Just you and me." "And your actress buddy? Is she a spy, too? They start that young?" "I did.")

(Natasha introduces herself, telling Bruce that she is there on behalf of SHIELD who need him. "What if I say no?" "I'll persuade you." "... And what if the... other guy says no?" "You've been more than a year without an incident. I don't think you want to break that streak." Natasha then goes on to reveal the situation, showing a picture of the Tesseract on her phone. "What does Fury want me to do, swallow it?" Fury wants him to find it, since it emits gamma radiation too weak for SHIELD to trace, and Bruce is the leading expert on it.)
Nee: what if i say no
Katney: If the other guy ssays no...

Katney: ... Still gonna call it glowy square thing
Nee: easier to type
(After Bruce asks if he's going to be caged Natasha denies it, causing Bruce to scream, "STOP LYING TO ME!" This causes Natasha to draw a hidden gun and cock it. Bruce straightens up and smiles apologetically. "I'm sorry. That was mean. I just wanted to see what you'd do. Why don't we do this the easy way where you don't use that and the other guy doesn't make a mess?" She stares at him for a moment, then lowers the gun and orders soldiers surrounding the shack to stand down via her earpiece. Bruce muses, "'Just you and me.'")
Nee: gun!

Katney: That was mean ^^
Nee: just you and me, huh?
Katney: ... Just -- heh XD
Nee: X3
(Elsewhere Fury addresses the World Security Council on different monitors, where they discuss Asgard declaring war on them, but Fury defends that it's only Loki who is acting out. The councilmen worry that Loki can't be working alone, but Fury assures them that his brother Thor isn't hostile and worlds away, so they're on their own. "Which is why you should be focusing on Phase 2. It was designed for exactly this--" "Phase 2 isn't ready. Our enemy is. We need a response team." We learn that the Avengers Initiative was shut down, the Council worry that Fury wants to leave the fate of the world to a "handful of freaks." Fury points out that with the right push they're exactly what they need. After all war isn't won by sentiment... but by soldiers.)
Katney: Phase 2 again

(Later in a gym we watch Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, aggressively punching a heavy bag. He begins to have flashbacks from when he fought in World War II and piloting the Valkyrie into the ice, which lead to him being frozen for 70 years. His punches grow stronger until he punches the bag off its chain across the room. He walks over to a row of similar punching bags laying nearby and hangs a new one up. Fury approaches him. "Trouble sleeping?" "I slept for 70 years, sir. I think I've had my fill." He hands Steve a folder with details about the Tesseract, which Steve recognizes as Hydra's secret weapon. Steve learns Howard Stark found it in the ocean while searching for him. Fury brings him up to speed on the situation. "The world has gotten even stranger than you already know." "At this point, I doubt anything would surprise me." "Ten bucks says you're wrong." As Steve leaves Fury tells him there is a debriefing package in his apartment. Steve tells him they should've left the Tesseract in the ocean.)
Katney: STEVE!
Katney: We just saw him :3
Nee: boom

Katney: Heh, he's got a row of 'em
Nee: $10 bucks says ya wrong
(Elsewhere in the Atlantic Ocean Iron Man puts the finishing touches on a pipeline transport. He flies up and out of the water, communicating with Pepper Potts that they are off the grid and powered by the Arc Reactor. "Stark Tower is about to become a beacon of self-sustaining clean energy." Iron Man flies towards the newly built Stark Tower as it lights up for the first time, large letters reading "STARK" light up as well. "How does it look?" Pepper asks. "Like Christmas, but with more... me." Iron Man lands at the tower, and as he walks mechanical arms rise from the floor and remove the suit from his body as the AI JARVIS tells him Agent Coulson is calling. "I'm not in. I'm actually out." "Sir, I'm afraid he's insisting." "Grow a spine, JARVIS. I got a date.")
Katney: And there's the ocean-- IRONMAN
Nee: TONY
Katney: Christmas, but with more me
Nee: Mmm Stark tower
Nee: oooo changing thing XD
Katney: Very nice
Nee: Coulson is on way
(Tony meets with Pepper and asks her how it feels to be a genius. Pepper denies knowing anything about it. "Give yourself some credit. Please. Stark Tower is your baby. Give yourself 12% of the credit." "12%? My baby?" "Well, I did do all the heavy lifting. Literally, I lifted the heavy things." They share a bottle of champagne. "Call your mom. Can you bunk over?")

(JARVIS interrupts to say that his protocols are being overridden, and Coulson breaks through on the telephone. Tony continues to ignore him despite the urgency... only to have no choice when Coulson arrives in the elevator. ^^ Pepper smiles, "Phil! Come in." Tony raises a brow, "'Phil'? Uh, his first name is 'Agent.'" Coulson offers Tony a touchscreen computer console, who still doesn't like being handed things so Pepper takes it and then hands it to him.)
Katney: Phil :3

(Tony assumes Coulson has arrived for consulting, but he denies it. "Is this about the Avengers? Which I know nothing about," Pepper says. "The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought. And I didn't even qualify," Tony says. "I didn't know that either." "Apparently I'm volatile, self-obsessed, don't play well with others..." "That, I did know.")

(Tony starts to look through the touchscreen computer console, calling Pepper over. He thought they were having a moment. "I was having 12% of a moment." Pepper notes that "Phil" looks shaken and it should be taken seriously. Tony looks at profiles of Thor, Bruce Banner, and Steve Rogers on the console which includes archive battle footage from the previous films. Pepper tells Tony he has a lot of work to do while she flies to DC. "Well, what if I didn't?" "You mean when you've finished? Well, then..." Pepper leans up to Tony's ear and whispers into it, leading Tony to gasp and grin. "Square deal. Fly safe." She kisses him and then walks with Phil. "I want to hear about the cellist. Is that still a thing?" "She moved back to Portland." "What? Boo!" Tony studies a holographic image of the Tesseract and reacts as if he recognizes it from somewhere... probably from his father's notes. ^^)

Nee: cellist? ^^ Maaaaw Phil has a special someone
(The next day Steve rides in a Quinjet with Coulson over the ocean. Steve studies Bruce Banner's profile on a tablet, learning that he became the Hulk in an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier serum with gamma radiation. "Didn't really go his way, did it?" "Not so much. When he's not that thing, though, the guy's like a Stephen Hawking." Steve looks at Coulson, confused. "... He's like a smart person." Coulson then tells Steve that it's an honor to officially meet him, the world's first superhero. He admits to watching Steve while he was unconscious from the ice, trying not to sound creepy. XD "I hope I'm the man for the job." "Oh, you are. Absolutely." Coulson reveals they made some modifications to Steve's uniform. Steve wonders if his uniform is too old-fashioned, but Coulson believes with everything that's happened and will happen people will need something old-fashioned.)
Katney: Steven who? ::chuckles::

Katney: Heehee, he is ^^

Katney: Now we just need to get Thor's butt back here
(In an underground lab various scientists, including Selvig, are working around a hub for mounting the Tesseract. Loki sits in a chair, the stone on his staff glows as the scene around him shifts to an alien landscape. He meets with The Other who tells him the Chitauri grow restless. A vision of Loki in his battle armor appears and steps by The Other, promising to lead them into a glorious battle. "Against the meager might of Earth?" "Glorious, not lengthy. If your force is as formidable as you claim." "You question us? You question him? He who put the scepter in your hand, who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out, defeated?" Loki claims he was betrayed, but The Other doesn't care. Loki reminds him that The Other doesn't have the Tesseract yet and he won't have it until Loki can open the doors. The Other warns Loki that if he fails and the Tesseract is kept from them there is no where Loki can hide that "he" can't find him. "You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain." The Other touches Loki's head and Loki returns to the room with a jerk of his head. He pants, glaring.)

Katney: Indeed <_<
(The Quinjet carrying Steve and Coulson lands on a massive battleship out in the ocean, the SHIELD logo is visible on the runway. Natasha approaches them, Coulson introduces her to Steve. Coulson leaves to head for the bridge, Natasha comments that finding Steve in the ice was quite a buzz. "I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet? (...) They're vintage. He's very proud." Bruce Banner is also on the runway and meets Steve. "Word is you can find the Cube," Steve comments. "... Is that the only word on me?" Bruce asks nervously. "Only word I care about.")

Nee: trading cards? X3 that is so sweet ^^
Katney: Bruce!
(Natasha tells them to step inside. "It's gonna get a little hard to breathe." The ship begins to shake as water begins to swirl around it. Bruce assumes that the ship is actually a submarine until he and Steve watch as turbine fans rise above the water, attached to the ship, and raise the entire ship above the water. Behold, the SHIELD Helicarrier. ... Neat. ::snaps a picture ^^:: Natasha leads Bruce and Steve inside and watch the crew at work. Fury orders the ship to enter camouflage mode once they've reached cloud level, becoming a hazy outline from below. Fury then meets with Steve and Bruce at a nearby table with chairs. Steve silently looks around as he hands Fury a $10 bill. Hee. ^^)
Katney: .... WANT.
Katney: ... Issat the thing you wanted the LEGO thing for?

(~It's later!~ ^^ I'm certain it's the 2006 design of a US $10 bill. In Nee's defense, though, it does have kind of an aged coloring and he is British. Fury shakes Bruce's hand and thanks him for coming, who thanks him for asking nicely. Coulson mentions that they're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet to locate the Tesseract, anything connected to a satellite. Bruce tells them to narrow the field. "Call every lab you know. Tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm, basic cluster recognition. At least we can rule out a few places." ... I think I just went crosseyed. 6_9 Natasha then leads Bruce to the laboratory they've set up for him.)

(Meanwhile Selvig works within a vacuum room in the laboratory while Barton stands outside of it. Barton holds up a tablet detailing information on a mineral called iridium which forms anti-protons and is very hard to get a hold of. Also on the screen is a picture of Dr. Heinrich Schafer, a nuclear scientist. Loki appears, Selvig gushing that the Tesseract has shown him so much knowledge. To Barton it reveals his next target. "I need a distraction. ... And an eyeball.")
Katney: Eyeball? O.o

(Back on the Helicarrier various computer monitors are using satellite facial recognition to locate Loki. Coulson stands beside Steve, formally asking if he will sign his vintage, near-mint Captain America trading cards later. Coulson can barely keep his composure... it's adorable. ^^ Soon they find a 79% match on Loki in Stuttgart, Germany near a museum. "Captain, you're up," Fury tells Steve. Steve enters a dimly lit room where he finds his new uniform in a glass case as well as his iconic shield looking good as new.)

(Over violin music people gather at a gala in Stuttgart. We listen to the violin music throughout much of the following sequence. Soldiers stand outside until they are taken out one by one by Barton's arrows. Barton meets with other operatives by a set of doors with a retinal scanner. Loki, dressed in modern clothing, descends a staircase overlooking a gathering of people around a speaker, Dr. Heinrich Schafer. Twirling his cane Loki knocks out a nearby security guard and advances on Schafer, pinning him down on a marble table nearby. He takes out a metal gadget and... ... ... I was told not to watch the eyeball trick. >_> I'm a wimp. Apparently Barton receives a holographic image of Schafer's eye through that gadget and uses it over the retina scanner to gain access inside. Once inside he retrieves a cylinder of iridium.)

(The guests flee the museum as Loki dons his Asgardian armor in a blur of light and advances towards them. He teleports into the middle of the crowd, telling them to kneel. The crowd runs, until Loki teleports hologram copies of himself around the crowd, trapping them. "I said... KNEEEEEEL!!" The people do as he commands, Loki smiles. He begins to step into the crowd and tells them that humans naturally crave subjugation and that they were made to be ruled over. "In the end, you will always kneel." An older man suddenly stands and glares at Loki. "Not to men like you." Loki prepares to execute the man as an example. He fires a blast from his spear... only to have the shot bounced right back at him. Captain America has dropped from the sky and stands by the old man with his mighty shield. YEAH, AMERICA!)

(Cap begins to march towards Loki. "You know, the last time I was in Germany, and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing." A Quinjet piloted by Black Widow hovers over the square and lowers a machine gun from the hull, warning Loki to stand down. Loki returns by shooting at the jet, missing it. Cap and Loki fight as the people begin to escape again. Black Widow can't get a clear shot in with the two men fighting all over the place. Suddenly a voice is heard over the PA system. "Agent Romanoff. You miss me?" Iron Man soars into the fight and blasts Loki back. Iron Man lands and pulls out just about every piece of weaponry his suit carries and aims at Loki. "Make your move, Reindeer Games." Loki's armor vanishes, he raises his hands up in surrender. "Good move." Iron Man relaxes and sheathes his weapons. Cap stands beside Iron Man. "Mr. Stark." "Captain.")

(Later the Quinjet carries Cap, Iron Man, and Loki back towards the Helicarrier. Cap and Iron Man whisper among themselves, Cap not liking how quickly Loki surrendered. "I don't remember it being that easy. This guy packs a wallop." "Still, you are pretty spry for an older fellow. What's your thing, Pilates?" "What?" "It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple of things doing time as a Capsicle." Suddenly thunder rumbles and lightning flickers across the sky, rocking the jet a bit. Loki looks nervous, admitting to not being fond of what follows lightning.)

(Suddenly a caped figure lands on top of the Quinjet, a flicker of lightning reveals it to be Thor. Iron Man opens the rear hatch, Thor immediately jumps down onto the loading ramp. Iron Man raises his hand, but is quickly knocked back by Thor's hammer Mjolnir. Thor grabs Loki by the throat and jumps out the rear hatch with him. Iron Man recovers, grumbling, "And now there's that guy. (...) If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost." Iron Man heads for the rear hatch. "Stark, we need a plan of attack!" "I have a plan. Attack." Iron Man flies out. Cap straps on a parachute as Black Widow advises him to sit it out. "These guys come from legend. They're basically gods." "There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure He doesn't dress like that." Cap grabs his shield and leaps out of the jet.)

(Thor and Loki land on a rocky ledge, Thor demands to know where the Tesseract is. Loki can only laugh, "I missed you, too. (...) With the Bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here to your precious Earth?" Thor grabs Loki, telling him that they thought he was dead and they all mourned for him, even their father. "YOUR father. He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?" Loki steps away from him as Thor pleads that despite not being related by blood they grew up together and did things as brothers. Loki, however, felt like he was living in Thor's shadow. He was also tossed into an abyss. "I, who was, and should be, king!" Thor tells Loki the throne wouldn't suit him if he thinks himself above those he rules. Loki tells Thor that he had seen the true power of the Tesseract, Thor demands to know who showed him. "Who controls the would-be king?" "I AM a king!" "Not here! You give up the Tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream! ... You come HOME." Loki reveals that he doesn't have it, since Thor needs it to bring him back to Asgard, and he claims to not know where it is. "... You listen well, brother--" Thor is suddenly tackled off the ledge by Iron Man, leaving Loki alone. "... I'm listening.")

(Thor and Iron Man crash into a forest, landing away from each other, and they face each other. "Do not touch me again," Thor warns. "Then don't take my stuff," Iron Man replies. "You have no idea what you're dealing with." "Uh... Shakespeare in the Park? 'Doth Mother know you wear-th her drapes?'" Growing angry, Thor tells Iron Man Loki must face Asgardian justice. "He gives up the Cube, he's all yours. Until then, stay out of the way. ... Tourist." Thor throws Mjolnir into Iron Man's chest, sending him flying through a tree. The battle between Iron Man and Thor has begun!)

(Loki watches from the rocky ledge, smiling to himself. During the fight Thor calls down lightning to his hammer and then strikes Iron Man with it. "Power at 400% capacity," JARVIS tells Iron Man. "... How about that?" The battle resumes, flying through the air, through trees, against a mountain, through more trees... this isn't a very eco-friendly fight, is it? XD They grab each others' fists in a standoff, Thor crushing Iron Man's metal suit in his hands. Iron Man gives Thor a headbutt to make him stop, which Thor returns and send Iron Man flying backwards.)
Katney: ... Supercharged

(Suddenly Cap finally arrives, bouncing his shield off Thor's head. "Hey! That's enough!" Thor explains, "I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes." "Then prove it. Put that hammer down." Iron Man speaks up, "Uh, yeah--NO! Bad call! He loves his hammer!" Thor backhands Iron Man with Mjolnir. "You want me to put the hammer down?!" He leaps into the air, raising Mjolnir above his head towards Cap, who raises his shield in defense. Mjolnir strikes the shield, emitting a massive implosion of light followed by a massive shockwave, knocking back Thor and clearing out a lot more trees. DAAAAAYUM! Iron Man, Cap, and Thor rise to their feet again and face each other, panting. "Are we done here?" ... Well, there's a couple more trees left, if you wanna... yyyyeah, no, we're done. X3)

(On the SHIELD Helicarrier several heavily armed soldiers escort a handcuffed Loki down a hallway. They walk past Bruce's lab where Bruce watches Loki with a frown. Loki looks to Bruce, smiling. Now free of the handcuffs Loki is sealed inside a large glass cell held in place by hydraulic rigs inside a large hangar-like room. Fury warns Loki that if he so much as scratches the glass of his cell a hatch below will open and drop the entire cell from 30,000 feet. He gestures to Loki, and then to the panel controlling the hatch. "Ant... boot." Loki chuckles, noting that the cage wasn't built for him. Bruce, Natasha, Thor, and Agent Hill watch and listen to their conversation. "A mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?" "You threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can't hope to control, you talk about peace, and you kill because it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did." "Ooh...it burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power, and for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is." Fury scoffs and walks away, "Well, let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something.")

(Steve switches off his monitor and asks Thor what is Loki's plan. Thor reveals that Loki has an alien army that will fight for him and win him a war on Earth in exchange for the Tesseract. Bruce reasons that Loki is building another portal and that is why he needs Thor's friend Selvig. Bruce thinks they shouldn't focus on Loki since he's obviously crazy, but Thor defends him. "Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he is my brother." "He killed 80 people in two days," Natasha tells him. "... He's adopted." Bruce then questions why Loki would be after iridium which Tony, just entering the room with Agent Coulson, reveals is a stabilizing agent. He then says to Coulson, "I'm just saying, pick a weekend, I'll fly you to Portland. Keep love alive." Tony continues that with iridium the portal won't collapse on itself and can stay open. He then passes Thor and gives his arm a light tap, "No hard feelings, Point Break.")

(Tony steps up to Fury's station with a series of monitors and acts as a ship's captain. He then playfully calls attention to a technician playing Galaga on his monitor. He then gets back to business, first placing a button-sized device under Fury's desk. Tony mentions that Barton can easily get the rest of the raw materials needed, but he still needs a dense high-energy power source to kickstart the Tesseract. Hill asks, "When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" "Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the extraction theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?" Steve asks if Loki needs a particular kind of power source, which Bruce replies... stuff in technobabble which Tony can follow and technobabble back. ... I'm trying my best to shorten these. X3 "Finally, someone who speaks English," Tony smiles. He and Bruce shake hands. "It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. (...) And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage-monster." "... Thanks.")

Steve suggests starting with Loki's staff, considering that it works like a Hydra weapon. Fury isn't sure about that, but he knows it's powered by the Tesseract. "And I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys." "Monkeys? I do not understand," Thor says. "I do!" Steve quickly says, "I understood that reference." Tony then turns to Bruce. "Shall we play, Doctor?" The two leave the room...and we notice that a technician is actually playing Galaga, which he resumes once Tony's gone. XDDD)

(That night Bruce analyzes Loki's spear, finding it emits gamma readings consistent with the Tesseract's, according to Selvig's reports. Tony invites Bruce to come to Stark Tower sometime. "Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it. It's Candyland." Bruce declines, as he broke Harlem the last time he was in New York. Tony promises a stress-free environment with no tension or surprises... and then he immediately pokes Bruce with a mini electrical prod. Bruce only yells, "OW!" Steve walks in, having witnessed the prodding. "Are you nuts?" "Jury's out. ::to Bruce:: You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz, bongo drums, huge bag of weed?" "Is everything a joke to you?" Steve asks. "Funny things are.")

(Steve berates Tony for joking around and that he should focus on the problem. Tony replies that he is: he's questioning why Fury didn't call them sooner and wonders what he's not telling them. "He's a spy. (...) His secrets have secrets." Bruce admits that it is also bugging him, how Loki's line of "A warm light for all mankind" was referring to Stark Tower. "The Stark Tower? That big, ugly ::Tony gives him a look:: ... building in New York?" The Stark Tower is powered by an arc reactor, a self-sustaining energy source, and Bruce asks why SHIELD didn't bring Tony in on the Tesseract project or why they were in the energy business at all. Tony then reveals that he's in the process of hacking into SHIELD's secured files. Steve returns that Loki is trying to rile them up and they should stay focus and follow orders, and Tony replies it's not his style. "And you're all about style, aren't you?" "... Of the people in this room, which one is, A) wearing a spangly outfit, and B) not of use?" "... Just find the Cube." Steve walks out of the lab... and down a corridor after a pair of agents.)

(Alone to continue their work, Tony is amazed that Steve is the guy his father talked about, but Bruce admits he's not wrong about Loki and he has a jump on them. "What he's got is an Acme dynamite kit. It's going to blow up in his face, and I'm going to be there when it does." "I'll read all about it." "Uh-huh, or you'll be suiting up with the rest of us." Bruce doesn't wear a suit though; he's exposed like a nerve. Tony tells Bruce about how the arc reactor in his chest is now a part of him, not just armor, and he learned how to control it. "I read all about your accident. That much gamma exposure should have killed you." "So you're saying that the Hulk... the other guy saved my life? (...) It's a nice sentiment. Saved it for what?" "I guess we'll find out." "You may not enjoy that." "And you just might." They continue their research.)

(At a door marked "Secure Storage 10-C" Steve forces the heavy iron door open and sneaks inside, revealing a large storage compartment with several piles of stacked metal containers. He jumps up to a higher level walkway. Elsewhere inside a moving truck driving down a long tunnel an unshaved Selvig places the cylinder of iridium into a slot within the CMS device, which accepts it.)

(Back at the Helicarrier Coulson reveals to Thor that they moved Jane Foster for her safety after Loki took Selvig. Thor worries what Loki will do to Selvig when he's done with him. Coulson reveals that Selvig speaks of Thor often, about how he changed his life and everything around there. "They were better as they were. We pretend on Asgard that we're more advanced but we come here, battling like bilgesnipe." Coulson looks at him in confusion. "You know, huge, scaly, big antlers... You don't have those?" "I don't think so." "Well, they are repulsive, and they trample everything in their path." Thor then laments how Loki's rage keeps following him to Earth. Fury approaches Thor, asking if he can get Loki to reveal the Tesseract's location, but Thor isn't sure. "It's not just power he craves, it's vengeance, upon me." Fury then asks what Thor is prepared to do. "Loki is a prisoner." "Then why do I feel like he's the only person on this boat that wants to be here?")

"Hey, where's the rest?!" you might be wondering? Well, there's a limit to how much someone can post in the description and this log ran WAY past it. I doubt I could just post the rest in the comment section. So I found a halfway point (as far as the size of the log goes) and I'll post the rest in another entry. Title Card: Nee decided that for such a grand occasion the title card should be played fairly straightforward with our fursonas cloned and each playing an Avenger. ... And a feline version of Samuel L Mother(toast)ing Jackson as Nick Fury. ^^ For this one Nee shifted his "Katney's Never Seen" title card duties over to our friend Aerokat, creator of such webcomics as Starfire Agency and Nightshift among others. When her drawing tablet was dying a few weeks ago I started to panic a little, but thankfully it worked out and she REALLY outdid herself. ^^ ... Too bad Nee did have to do an Avengers title card, but more on that later.

1) We watch these movies from our respective countries. We log into our internet messenger of choice, choose a movie, count down to start, and type our reactions and commentary accordingly.
2) It has to be a movie only one of us has seen before. The only exception is if it's part of a film series and one of us wishes to watch it together, but it will still be added to their movie total tally. (Example: Katney's already seen Batman Forever, but Nee wants it included in the Movie Date entries.)
3) If neither of us has seen a particular movie one of us has to watch it first. Besides syncing issues leading to possible spoilers who would draw the title card? X3
4) Movies that we've seen before but haven't watched in several years and remember very little of may be included.
5) Movies that have only been seen in bits and pieces may be included as long as certain plot points/twists haven't been revealed. There may be some minor exceptions if it's included in a film series and/or heavily parodied.
6) TV and internet shows will be included. One disk/season will be considered one movie. 5 to 6 episodes maximum per viewing and marked as a completed movie by the end of the disk/season. Internet shows without a physical copy will be calculated either by episode run times or by season.
7) While Katney does her best to add movie descriptions these logs are from some time ago and some of our reactions may have to be taken out of context.
8) The logs will be posted as they were originally written, except self-corrected typos will be removed and some strong language will be censored. The censored word will usually be replaced with "(toast)" or some other variation depending on the situation. There may be some films where this rule will be ignored.
9) In the descriptions the actor's name may only be listed in regards to the character they play if we refer to them as such or as another character they've played in our commentary.
10) Movies are watched from beginning to end, so if you intend to watch these movies beware of spoilers.
11) More rules can be added at any time.

Up a flight of unusual stairs a figure is handed a pointed staff with a glowing stone. An alien army, the Chitauri, will follow the figure, their ally. "The world will be his. The universe, yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?")

(A helicopter flies towards the Joint Dark Energy Mission at dusk. An evacuation is underway as the helicopter lands before SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson. Agent Maria Hill and SHIELD Director Nick Fury step out of the helicopter. "How bad is it?" Fury asks Coulson. "That's the problem, sir. We don't know." They travel down an elevator shaft to a testing area underground. Coulson reveals there had been an energy surge from the Tesseract when no one was present, effectively turning itself on. They're unable to shut it down so the evacuation began.)

(Hill believes an evacuation may be futile; there's no minimum safe distance if they can't control its energy. Fury orders that the Phase 2 prototypes be loaded into a truck and shipped out. Fury enters a chamber where Erik Selvig is examining the Tesseract in a holding container, saying it is "misbehaving" and because it's an energy source the power can't be cut without it being turned back on. Selvig also reveals that it is throwing off low levels of gamma radiation. "Where's Agent Barton?" "The Hawk? Up in his nest, as usual." Selvig gestures to Clint Barton aka Hawkeye perched up in the rafters until he is called down by Fury. "Have you seen anything that might set this thing off?" "No one's come or gone. (...) If there was any tampering, sir, it wasn't at this end." "'At this end'?" "Yeah, the Cube is a doorway to the other end of space, right? Doors open from both sides.")

(At that moment light radiates and energy pulses from the Tesseract, the whole compound begins to shake. Everyone stands and watches as the Tesseract begins to glow brighter and looks like it is about to fire a beam across the room... which it does. A portal into space opens at the far end of the room, then the light dissipates around the room. A figure kneels on the platform where the portal was. The figure lifts his head... revealing it to be Loki, Thor's adopted brother, with a wide smile on his face and wielding the staff with the glowing stone seen in the opening.)

Katney: Um... outta the way, guys!
Nee: panic!

(Fury directs Loki to put his weapon down, who responds by firing a beam at Fury, but Barton pushes Fury out of harm's way. Loki attacks and kills armed gunmen around the room. The room quiets as people are either dead or knocked down. Loki approaches Barton as he struggles back to his feet and deflects Loki's spear. "You have heart." Loki places the tip of his spear to Barton's chest, causing energy to flow into him. Barton's eyes turn black, and then the same colored blue as the spear. He is now Loki's willing puppet.)

(Fury removes the Tesseract from its mount and puts it into an armored briefcase, moving to leave with it. "Please, don't," Loki tells him. "I still need that. (...) I am Loki of Asgard and I am burdened with glorious purpose." Selvig realizes that Loki is Thor's brother.)
Katney: .... How was Fury able to touch that?!

("We have no quarrel with your people," Fury tells Loki. "An ant has no quarrel with a boot." Loki intends to free the world from freedom, "life's great lie". He turns to Selvig and puts him under his control with his spear as well. "Once you accept that, in your heart... you will know peace." "Yeah, you say 'peace', I kind of think you mean the other thing." Barton tells Loki that Fury is stalling, as the facility is about to blow and bury them as the portal above them is about to collapse in on itself. On Loki's command Barton shoots Fury and then grabs the briefcase containing the Tesseract and leaves with Loki, Selvig, and another possessed agent.)

(They move into a loading bay past Agent Hill. Barton tells her they need the vehicles, Loki gets into the back of a truck bed. Fury is still alive, however, and contacts Hill on the radio alerting her that Barton has turned. Barton fires at her as she ducks for cover. He then gets into the truck with Selvig in the passenger seat and begins to drive off, followed by the other agent in a car. Fury runs out of the chamber as the portal begins to expand out of control. "They have the Tesseract! Shut them down!" Hill jumps into another truck and pursues them.)
Katney: Am I suppose to know Hill? Is she Widow?
Katney: No, wait, Scarlet Johanson was Widow
Nee: No ^^ she is a sheild agent like Coulson...
Katney: Mmkay then
(Loki fires his spear at a pursuing car, causing it to flip and crash, blocking the tunnel. Hill merges from a connecting tunnel and follows Barton's truck. Coulson escapes in a car as Fury escapes in his helicopter shortly before the portal tears through the facility, causing it to collapse in on itself. The tunnel collapses behind Hill and eventually buries the truck she is in, though Barton escapes with Selvig and Loki.)

(Fury's helicopter hovers over Barton's truck, he leans out and fires at them until Loki shoots down the helicopter with his spear. Fury jumps out before it crashes and Barton drives out of range. Coulson contacts Fury on the radio, where Fury reveals that Loki got away with the Tesseract. Hill, alive, climbs out of her truck. Fury orders everyone to look for the Tesseract. "Coulson, get back to base. This is a Level Seven. As of right now, we are at war." The movie's title appears on screen.)

(A train passes close to the camera and blares its horn. It runs past a dimly lit warehouse where we find, on an upper platform, an older man in an army officer's uniform punching a woman tied to a chair. We see that it is Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, played again by Scarlett Johansson. They converse in Russian, where the man is interrogating her [or is it the other way around?]. She mentions information that turns out to be outdated, leading the man, a general, to think the famous Black Widow is just another pretty face. A henchman forces her mouth open as the general goes over to a set of tools, picking up a pair of metal pliers. A second henchman answers a ringing phone... who reveals that the call is for her.)

(The general takes the phone, Agent Coulson is on the other end. "You're at 1-14 Silensky Plaza, 3rd floor. We have an F-22 exactly eight miles out. Put the woman on the phone or I will blow up the block before you can make the lobby." The general gives the phone to Natasha. Coulson tells her to come in, but she protests that she's in the middle of an interrogation. "This moron is giving me everything." "I don't give everything," the general says. Once Coulson reveals that Barton has been compromised, however, Natasha puts him on hold. As soon as the general removes the phone Natasha kicks him hard in the knee. ... And... like her fight in Iron Man 2 I'm not even gonna try to follow her fight while she's tied to a chair. She's still a toasting badass. Coulson waits patiently on the other end with a neutral expression as he hears the fight on the other end. Natasha broke free of her chair and took out the bad guys, the end. X3)

(In Calcutta [or Kolkata], India, a young girl races through a busy street to reach a flight of stairs in an alley. A woman stares down at her and tells her to leave as the doctor is treating sick children. The girl tells the woman that her father is also sick and needs help. The doctor, Bruce Banner, previously played by Edward Norton and now by Mark Ruffalo, follows the girl to an isolated shack. The girl runs through the shack, into a bedroom, and then climbs out the window, leaving the doctor alone. "... You should've got paid up front, Banner.")

"You've been more than a year without an incident. I don't think you want to break that streak." Natasha then goes on to reveal the situation, showing a picture of the Tesseract on her phone. "What does Fury want me to do, swallow it?" Fury wants him to find it, since it emits gamma radiation too weak for SHIELD to trace, and Bruce is the leading expert on it.)

(After Bruce asks if he's going to be caged Natasha denies it, causing Bruce to scream, "STOP LYING TO ME!" This causes Natasha to draw a hidden gun and cock it. Bruce straightens up and smiles apologetically. "I'm sorry. That was mean. I just wanted to see what you'd do. Why don't we do this the easy way where you don't use that and the other guy doesn't make a mess?" She stares at him for a moment, then lowers the gun and orders soldiers surrounding the shack to stand down via her earpiece. Bruce muses, "'Just you and me.'")

(Elsewhere Fury addresses the World Security Council on different monitors, where they discuss Asgard declaring war on them, but Fury defends that it's only Loki who is acting out. The councilmen worry that Loki can't be working alone, but Fury assures them that his brother Thor isn't hostile and worlds away, so they're on their own. "Which is why you should be focusing on Phase 2. It was designed for exactly this--" "Phase 2 isn't ready. Our enemy is. We need a response team." We learn that the Avengers Initiative was shut down, the Council worry that Fury wants to leave the fate of the world to a "handful of freaks." Fury points out that with the right push they're exactly what they need. After all war isn't won by sentiment... but by soldiers.)

(Later in a gym we watch Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, aggressively punching a heavy bag. He begins to have flashbacks from when he fought in World War II and piloting the Valkyrie into the ice, which lead to him being frozen for 70 years. His punches grow stronger until he punches the bag off its chain across the room. He walks over to a row of similar punching bags laying nearby and hangs a new one up. Fury approaches him. "Trouble sleeping?" "I slept for 70 years, sir. I think I've had my fill." He hands Steve a folder with details about the Tesseract, which Steve recognizes as Hydra's secret weapon. Steve learns Howard Stark found it in the ocean while searching for him. Fury brings him up to speed on the situation. "The world has gotten even stranger than you already know." "At this point, I doubt anything would surprise me." "Ten bucks says you're wrong." As Steve leaves Fury tells him there is a debriefing package in his apartment. Steve tells him they should've left the Tesseract in the ocean.)

(Elsewhere in the Atlantic Ocean Iron Man puts the finishing touches on a pipeline transport. He flies up and out of the water, communicating with Pepper Potts that they are off the grid and powered by the Arc Reactor. "Stark Tower is about to become a beacon of self-sustaining clean energy." Iron Man flies towards the newly built Stark Tower as it lights up for the first time, large letters reading "STARK" light up as well. "How does it look?" Pepper asks. "Like Christmas, but with more... me." Iron Man lands at the tower, and as he walks mechanical arms rise from the floor and remove the suit from his body as the AI JARVIS tells him Agent Coulson is calling. "I'm not in. I'm actually out." "Sir, I'm afraid he's insisting." "Grow a spine, JARVIS. I got a date.")

Uh, his first name is 'Agent.'" Coulson offers Tony a touchscreen computer console, who still doesn't like being handed things so Pepper takes it and then hands it to him.)

(Tony starts to look through the touchscreen computer console, calling Pepper over. He thought they were having a moment. "I was having 12% of a moment." Pepper notes that "Phil" looks shaken and it should be taken seriously. Tony looks at profiles of Thor, Bruce Banner, and Steve Rogers on the console which includes archive battle footage from the previous films. Pepper tells Tony he has a lot of work to do while she flies to DC. "Well, what if I didn't?" "You mean when you've finished? Well, then..." Pepper leans up to Tony's ear and whispers into it, leading Tony to gasp and grin. "Square deal. Fly safe." She kisses him and then walks with Phil. "I want to hear about the cellist. Is that still a thing?" "She moved back to Portland." "What? Boo!" Tony studies a holographic image of the Tesseract and reacts as if he recognizes it from somewhere... probably from his father's notes. ^^)

(The next day Steve rides in a Quinjet with Coulson over the ocean. Steve studies Bruce Banner's profile on a tablet, learning that he became the Hulk in an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier serum with gamma radiation. "Didn't really go his way, did it?" "Not so much. When he's not that thing, though, the guy's like a Stephen Hawking." Steve looks at Coulson, confused. "... He's like a smart person." Coulson then tells Steve that it's an honor to officially meet him, the world's first superhero. He admits to watching Steve while he was unconscious from the ice, trying not to sound creepy. XD "I hope I'm the man for the job." "Oh, you are. Absolutely." Coulson reveals they made some modifications to Steve's uniform. Steve wonders if his uniform is too old-fashioned, but Coulson believes with everything that's happened and will happen people will need something old-fashioned.)

(In an underground lab various scientists, including Selvig, are working around a hub for mounting the Tesseract. Loki sits in a chair, the stone on his staff glows as the scene around him shifts to an alien landscape. He meets with The Other who tells him the Chitauri grow restless. A vision of Loki in his battle armor appears and steps by The Other, promising to lead them into a glorious battle. "Against the meager might of Earth?" "Glorious, not lengthy. If your force is as formidable as you claim." "You question us? You question him? He who put the scepter in your hand, who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out, defeated?" Loki claims he was betrayed, but The Other doesn't care. Loki reminds him that The Other doesn't have the Tesseract yet and he won't have it until Loki can open the doors. The Other warns Loki that if he fails and the Tesseract is kept from them there is no where Loki can hide that "he" can't find him. "You think you know pain? He will make you long for something as sweet as pain." The Other touches Loki's head and Loki returns to the room with a jerk of his head. He pants, glaring.)

(The Quinjet carrying Steve and Coulson lands on a massive battleship out in the ocean, the SHIELD logo is visible on the runway. Natasha approaches them, Coulson introduces her to Steve. Coulson leaves to head for the bridge, Natasha comments that finding Steve in the ice was quite a buzz. "I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet? (...) They're vintage. He's very proud." Bruce Banner is also on the runway and meets Steve. "Word is you can find the Cube," Steve comments. "... Is that the only word on me?" Bruce asks nervously. "Only word I care about.")

Bruce assumes that the ship is actually a submarine until he and Steve watch as turbine fans rise above the water, attached to the ship, and raise the entire ship above the water. Behold, the SHIELD Helicarrier. ... Neat. ::snaps a picture ^^:: Natasha leads Bruce and Steve inside and watch the crew at work. Fury orders the ship to enter camouflage mode once they've reached cloud level, becoming a hazy outline from below. Fury then meets with Steve and Bruce at a nearby table with chairs. Steve silently looks around as he hands Fury a $10 bill. Hee. ^^)

Fury shakes Bruce's hand and thanks him for coming, who thanks him for asking nicely. Coulson mentions that they're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet to locate the Tesseract, anything connected to a satellite. Bruce tells them to narrow the field. "Call every lab you know. Tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm, basic cluster recognition. At least we can rule out a few places." ... I think I just went crosseyed. 6_9 Natasha then leads Bruce to the laboratory they've set up for him.)

(Meanwhile Selvig works within a vacuum room in the laboratory while Barton stands outside of it. Barton holds up a tablet detailing information on a mineral called iridium which forms anti-protons and is very hard to get a hold of. Also on the screen is a picture of Dr. Heinrich Schafer, a nuclear scientist. Loki appears, Selvig gushing that the Tesseract has shown him so much knowledge. To Barton it reveals his next target. "I need a distraction. ... And an eyeball.")

(Back on the Helicarrier various computer monitors are using satellite facial recognition to locate Loki. Coulson stands beside Steve, formally asking if he will sign his vintage, near-mint Captain America trading cards later. Coulson can barely keep his composure... it's adorable. ^^ Soon they find a 79% match on Loki in Stuttgart, Germany near a museum. "Captain, you're up," Fury tells Steve. Steve enters a dimly lit room where he finds his new uniform in a glass case as well as his iconic shield looking good as new.)

(Over violin music people gather at a gala in Stuttgart. We listen to the violin music throughout much of the following sequence. Soldiers stand outside until they are taken out one by one by Barton's arrows. Barton meets with other operatives by a set of doors with a retinal scanner. Loki, dressed in modern clothing, descends a staircase overlooking a gathering of people around a speaker, Dr. Heinrich Schafer. Twirling his cane Loki knocks out a nearby security guard and advances on Schafer, pinning him down on a marble table nearby. He takes out a metal gadget and... ... ... I was told not to watch the eyeball trick. >_> I'm a wimp. Apparently Barton receives a holographic image of Schafer's eye through that gadget and uses it over the retina scanner to gain access inside. Once inside he retrieves a cylinder of iridium.)

(The guests flee the museum as Loki dons his Asgardian armor in a blur of light and advances towards them. He teleports into the middle of the crowd, telling them to kneel. The crowd runs, until Loki teleports hologram copies of himself around the crowd, trapping them. "I said... KNEEEEEEL!!" The people do as he commands, Loki smiles. He begins to step into the crowd and tells them that humans naturally crave subjugation and that they were made to be ruled over. "In the end, you will always kneel." An older man suddenly stands and glares at Loki. "Not to men like you." Loki prepares to execute the man as an example. He fires a blast from his spear... only to have the shot bounced right back at him. Captain America has dropped from the sky and stands by the old man with his mighty shield. YEAH, AMERICA!)

(Cap begins to march towards Loki. "You know, the last time I was in Germany, and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing." A Quinjet piloted by Black Widow hovers over the square and lowers a machine gun from the hull, warning Loki to stand down. Loki returns by shooting at the jet, missing it. Cap and Loki fight as the people begin to escape again. Black Widow can't get a clear shot in with the two men fighting all over the place. Suddenly a voice is heard over the PA system. "Agent Romanoff. You miss me?" Iron Man soars into the fight and blasts Loki back. Iron Man lands and pulls out just about every piece of weaponry his suit carries and aims at Loki. "Make your move, Reindeer Games." Loki's armor vanishes, he raises his hands up in surrender. "Good move." Iron Man relaxes and sheathes his weapons. Cap stands beside Iron Man. "Mr. Stark." "Captain.")

(Later the Quinjet carries Cap, Iron Man, and Loki back towards the Helicarrier. Cap and Iron Man whisper among themselves, Cap not liking how quickly Loki surrendered. "I don't remember it being that easy. This guy packs a wallop." "Still, you are pretty spry for an older fellow. What's your thing, Pilates?" "What?" "It's like calisthenics. You might have missed a couple of things doing time as a Capsicle." Suddenly thunder rumbles and lightning flickers across the sky, rocking the jet a bit. Loki looks nervous, admitting to not being fond of what follows lightning.)

(Suddenly a caped figure lands on top of the Quinjet, a flicker of lightning reveals it to be Thor. Iron Man opens the rear hatch, Thor immediately jumps down onto the loading ramp. Iron Man raises his hand, but is quickly knocked back by Thor's hammer Mjolnir. Thor grabs Loki by the throat and jumps out the rear hatch with him. Iron Man recovers, grumbling, "And now there's that guy. (...) If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost." Iron Man heads for the rear hatch. "Stark, we need a plan of attack!" "I have a plan. Attack." Iron Man flies out. Cap straps on a parachute as Black Widow advises him to sit it out. "These guys come from legend. They're basically gods." "There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure He doesn't dress like that." Cap grabs his shield and leaps out of the jet.)

(Thor and Loki land on a rocky ledge, Thor demands to know where the Tesseract is. Loki can only laugh, "I missed you, too. (...) With the Bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here to your precious Earth?" Thor grabs Loki, telling him that they thought he was dead and they all mourned for him, even their father. "YOUR father. He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?" Loki steps away from him as Thor pleads that despite not being related by blood they grew up together and did things as brothers. Loki, however, felt like he was living in Thor's shadow. He was also tossed into an abyss. "I, who was, and should be, king!" Thor tells Loki the throne wouldn't suit him if he thinks himself above those he rules. Loki tells Thor that he had seen the true power of the Tesseract, Thor demands to know who showed him. "Who controls the would-be king?" "I AM a king!" "Not here! You give up the Tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream! ... You come HOME." Loki reveals that he doesn't have it, since Thor needs it to bring him back to Asgard, and he claims to not know where it is. "... You listen well, brother--" Thor is suddenly tackled off the ledge by Iron Man, leaving Loki alone. "... I'm listening.")
Katney: ... What's taking so long for the other guys to show up? X3

(Thor and Iron Man crash into a forest, landing away from each other, and they face each other. "Do not touch me again," Thor warns. "Then don't take my stuff," Iron Man replies. "You have no idea what you're dealing with." "Uh... Shakespeare in the Park? 'Doth Mother know you wear-th her drapes?'" Growing angry, Thor tells Iron Man Loki must face Asgardian justice. "He gives up the Cube, he's all yours. Until then, stay out of the way. ... Tourist." Thor throws Mjolnir into Iron Man's chest, sending him flying through a tree. The battle between Iron Man and Thor has begun!)
Katney: Don't take my stuff

Katney: It's Thor vs Ironman!
(Loki watches from the rocky ledge, smiling to himself. During the fight Thor calls down lightning to his hammer and then strikes Iron Man with it. "Power at 400% capacity," JARVIS tells Iron Man. "... How about that?" The battle resumes, flying through the air, through trees, against a mountain, through more trees... this isn't a very eco-friendly fight, is it? XD They grab each others' fists in a standoff, Thor crushing Iron Man's metal suit in his hands. Iron Man gives Thor a headbutt to make him stop, which Thor returns and send Iron Man flying backwards.)
Katney: ... Supercharged
Nee: that was a real nice forest they had once
Katney: Owowowowow XD

Katney: Do they still edit out headbutts over there?
Nee: nope ^^
(Suddenly Cap finally arrives, bouncing his shield off Thor's head. "Hey! That's enough!" Thor explains, "I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes." "Then prove it. Put that hammer down." Iron Man speaks up, "Uh, yeah--NO! Bad call! He loves his hammer!" Thor backhands Iron Man with Mjolnir. "You want me to put the hammer down?!" He leaps into the air, raising Mjolnir above his head towards Cap, who raises his shield in defense. Mjolnir strikes the shield, emitting a massive implosion of light followed by a massive shockwave, knocking back Thor and clearing out a lot more trees. DAAAAAYUM! Iron Man, Cap, and Thor rise to their feet again and face each other, panting. "Are we done here?" ... Well, there's a couple more trees left, if you wanna... yyyyeah, no, we're done. X3)

(On the SHIELD Helicarrier several heavily armed soldiers escort a handcuffed Loki down a hallway. They walk past Bruce's lab where Bruce watches Loki with a frown. Loki looks to Bruce, smiling. Now free of the handcuffs Loki is sealed inside a large glass cell held in place by hydraulic rigs inside a large hangar-like room. Fury warns Loki that if he so much as scratches the glass of his cell a hatch below will open and drop the entire cell from 30,000 feet. He gestures to Loki, and then to the panel controlling the hatch. "Ant... boot." Loki chuckles, noting that the cage wasn't built for him. Bruce, Natasha, Thor, and Agent Hill watch and listen to their conversation. "A mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?" "You threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can't hope to control, you talk about peace, and you kill because it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did." "Ooh...it burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power, and for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is." Fury scoffs and walks away, "Well, let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something.")

Katney: Doesn't seem like that'd be effective punishment
(Steve switches off his monitor and asks Thor what is Loki's plan. Thor reveals that Loki has an alien army that will fight for him and win him a war on Earth in exchange for the Tesseract. Bruce reasons that Loki is building another portal and that is why he needs Thor's friend Selvig. Bruce thinks they shouldn't focus on Loki since he's obviously crazy, but Thor defends him. "Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he is my brother." "He killed 80 people in two days," Natasha tells him. "... He's adopted." Bruce then questions why Loki would be after iridium which Tony, just entering the room with Agent Coulson, reveals is a stabilizing agent. He then says to Coulson, "I'm just saying, pick a weekend, I'll fly you to Portland. Keep love alive." Tony continues that with iridium the portal won't collapse on itself and can stay open. He then passes Thor and gives his arm a light tap, "No hard feelings, Point Break.")

(Tony steps up to Fury's station with a series of monitors and acts as a ship's captain. He then playfully calls attention to a technician playing Galaga on his monitor. He then gets back to business, first placing a button-sized device under Fury's desk. Tony mentions that Barton can easily get the rest of the raw materials needed, but he still needs a dense high-energy power source to kickstart the Tesseract. Hill asks, "When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" "Last night. The packet, Selvig's notes, the extraction theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?" Steve asks if Loki needs a particular kind of power source, which Bruce replies... stuff in technobabble which Tony can follow and technobabble back. ... I'm trying my best to shorten these. X3 "Finally, someone who speaks English," Tony smiles. He and Bruce shake hands. "It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. (...) And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage-monster." "... Thanks.")

(Fury walks into the room, telling Tony that Bruce is only there to track the Tesseract and hopes that Tony would help him. Steve suggests starting with Loki's staff, considering that it works like a Hydra weapon. Fury isn't sure about that, but he knows it's powered by the Tesseract. "And I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys." "Monkeys? I do not understand," Thor says. "I do!" Steve quickly says, "I understood that reference." Tony then turns to Bruce. "Shall we play, Doctor?" The two leave the room...and we notice that a technician is actually playing Galaga, which he resumes once Tony's gone. XDDD)

(That night Bruce analyzes Loki's spear, finding it emits gamma readings consistent with the Tesseract's, according to Selvig's reports. Tony invites Bruce to come to Stark Tower sometime. "Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it. It's Candyland." Bruce declines, as he broke Harlem the last time he was in New York. Tony promises a stress-free environment with no tension or surprises... and then he immediately pokes Bruce with a mini electrical prod. Bruce only yells, "OW!" Steve walks in, having witnessed the prodding. "Are you nuts?" "Jury's out. ::to Bruce:: You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz, bongo drums, huge bag of weed?" "Is everything a joke to you?" Steve asks. "Funny things are.")

(Steve berates Tony for joking around and that he should focus on the problem. Tony replies that he is: he's questioning why Fury didn't call them sooner and wonders what he's not telling them. "He's a spy. (...) His secrets have secrets." Bruce admits that it is also bugging him, how Loki's line of "A warm light for all mankind" was referring to Stark Tower. "The Stark Tower? That big, ugly ::Tony gives him a look:: ... building in New York?" The Stark Tower is powered by an arc reactor, a self-sustaining energy source, and Bruce asks why SHIELD didn't bring Tony in on the Tesseract project or why they were in the energy business at all. Tony then reveals that he's in the process of hacking into SHIELD's secured files. Steve returns that Loki is trying to rile them up and they should stay focus and follow orders, and Tony replies it's not his style. "And you're all about style, aren't you?" "... Of the people in this room, which one is, A) wearing a spangly outfit, and B) not of use?" "... Just find the Cube." Steve walks out of the lab... and down a corridor after a pair of agents.)

(Alone to continue their work, Tony is amazed that Steve is the guy his father talked about, but Bruce admits he's not wrong about Loki and he has a jump on them. "What he's got is an Acme dynamite kit. It's going to blow up in his face, and I'm going to be there when it does." "I'll read all about it." "Uh-huh, or you'll be suiting up with the rest of us." Bruce doesn't wear a suit though; he's exposed like a nerve. Tony tells Bruce about how the arc reactor in his chest is now a part of him, not just armor, and he learned how to control it. "I read all about your accident. That much gamma exposure should have killed you." "So you're saying that the Hulk... the other guy saved my life? (...) It's a nice sentiment. Saved it for what?" "I guess we'll find out." "You may not enjoy that." "And you just might." They continue their research.)

(At a door marked "Secure Storage 10-C" Steve forces the heavy iron door open and sneaks inside, revealing a large storage compartment with several piles of stacked metal containers. He jumps up to a higher level walkway. Elsewhere inside a moving truck driving down a long tunnel an unshaved Selvig places the cylinder of iridium into a slot within the CMS device, which accepts it.)
Katney: Cap's breaking into places
Nee: Well tony has his way of breaking in and so does Steve
Katney: Selvig needs to shav
(Back at the Helicarrier Coulson reveals to Thor that they moved Jane Foster for her safety after Loki took Selvig. Thor worries what Loki will do to Selvig when he's done with him. Coulson reveals that Selvig speaks of Thor often, about how he changed his life and everything around there. "They were better as they were. We pretend on Asgard that we're more advanced but we come here, battling like bilgesnipe." Coulson looks at him in confusion. "You know, huge, scaly, big antlers... You don't have those?" "I don't think so." "Well, they are repulsive, and they trample everything in their path." Thor then laments how Loki's rage keeps following him to Earth. Fury approaches Thor, asking if he can get Loki to reveal the Tesseract's location, but Thor isn't sure. "It's not just power he craves, it's vengeance, upon me." Fury then asks what Thor is prepared to do. "Loki is a prisoner." "Then why do I feel like he's the only person on this boat that wants to be here?")

"Hey, where's the rest?!" you might be wondering? Well, there's a limit to how much someone can post in the description and this log ran WAY past it. I doubt I could just post the rest in the comment section. So I found a halfway point (as far as the size of the log goes) and I'll post the rest in another entry. There are also rules about posting the same picture more than once. Luckily I thought this might be coming a few weeks ago so I put Nee to work on a second title card. I'm going to wait a few days to give Aerokat's work the spotlight and post Part 2 later this week. See you soon!
