Whilst originally just a way to indulge, whilst I was adding colour to it I did think of a little back story (one that really doesn't fit with the scenario of the other two, RIP), it wasn't hugely thought out if I'm honest but basically Ren had been working at the Café most of the day, working mostly just behind the counter serving coffee and making curry, nothing too much - mostly because others insisted he took it easy aha - when later in the day, Akechi appears. He's allowed to pause to greet his partner and as he did, he was eager for a little affection since he had missed him a lot lately due to his own work, affection that Akechi was happy to give.
