A dragon, a lynx, a bear and a Krogan make for a good selection of victims and the armadillo magician I'm sure will have plenty of fun seeing which have the most ticklish feet and which tickling methods are most effective, so maybe it was in the spirit of experimentation that he chose these victims or maybe his magic is powered by laughter so it's necessary every now and then to capture a few victims and recharge his energies.
Though with those boots and shoes of the victims and the armadillo wearing sandals perhaps he has a dislike of such footwear and is intending to persuade his victims of the benefits of open-toed footwear and why it's a shame to let such good looking feet be hidden away inside boots.
