Poor lil Lilz went and caught herself a mouthful of snow rabies, it's alright her bae's calming touch is all it takes to calm that raging engine. ~<3
On a side-note I'm incredibly proud of my little baby girl, we drove past god who knows how many stranded cars on the sides of the road over these last few random weekdays of snow storms, and Lilly this little frontwheel drive four banger never got stuck once and would force herself through walls of snow if it meant getting where we needed to go.
Its things like this that reaffirms my belief that love and affection is always returned by a car if it's given to them, they'll power through the elements and even their own dwindling mortality for you because they'll love you back and not want to let you down.
She's at 199,200 miles as of now, and even with her recent breakdown with her fuel-pump, I don't hold that against her in the slightest. Because this is the first actual breakdown away from home she's had since she was 60,000 miles younger and even then she kept her dying fuel deprived engine going long enough to get us off the main road and back into a neighborhood, and while I can thank myself for keeping a full toolbox with me for being able to fix her, she was able to have herself repaired by me right there on the side of the road and get herself home on her own power afterwords.
She's one hell of a good girl ~<3 And because of her I'll never take anyone seriously if I ever hear them badmouthing Hyundais as junky cars.

I had a Hyundai Sonata 99 for a good while, until the timing belt went off.
Double overhead cam mixed with an interference engine resulted in a rather sudden and silent death.
I wish I could have kept it, but given how hard times were back then, I sadly couldn't afford it.
I'll admit I still miss that car, it was battered, rusted, fender and hood were off-color, previous owner even crashed it, apparently. But I loved it anyway.
Being much less educated on mechanic back then than I am now, I've let this one fatal mistake slip through and that was it. Otherwise I would still be driving it today for sure.
In loving memory of my Sonata, make sure to always check that timing belt, tensioner and everything!

Yeah.. exactly. That's why I changed Lilly's myself out of concern for simply not knowing the last time it had been done. The belt itself is only $60 you just have to have the basic tools and the nerve to do the job.
I know what you mean though, we all have that experience. I wish I'd known what I knew now back when my dad's 80s era pickup had been broken down and sitting for years. The bastard just let it sit there and eventually scrapped it. I would have been able to get the old boy running again if it were now..
Seconded, raise a glass to a good old car, had a tough life but never gave up till the very end. Wish I could give her a hug. Whoever asshole did Lilly's belt last, lost the tension-er spring and just had the thing locked down with the lock-bolt. You bet your ass I waited an extra week with her taken apart just to get a new spring from the dealer. https://sta.sh/0p410gvr5u4
