I’ll have to see if I can find out more about that. I remember my uncle had a full-sized station wagon with a roll down rear window. We rode from his house in Anaheim, across the desert to Vegas in 1974 with me and my cousins in the back, hanging our bare feet out that window.
Why can't cars have this sort of thing anymore, I mean with chrome plated plastic looks pretty good these days and plastic can be moulded into all sorts.
I will say it is only since plastic headlight covers that headlights are being styled just as fancily as the old tail lights on cars :)
