As some of you know, I've been wanting to try my paw with Warhammer 40K. So...it's almost natural that I'd try my paw at some Warhammer 40K-based fanart, hehehe. :P

Of the Imperium of Man, the Space Marines are the crack soldiers of the Emperor - enhanced human (or in this case, furries) trained and hardened by many battles against the many enemies of man (Orks, Eldar, Dark Eldar, former brethren who have fallen by heresy, and Tyrannids to name just a few). Of the chapters of the Space Marines, the Ultramarines Chapters is the most powerful, holding 8 very prosperous worlds and has some of the best troops within the Marines. Their chapter is also the foundation of the Adeptus Astartes, the foundation of their operations and combat philosophy.

This particular Marine is like either supporting his squad or is currently in the Devastator Squad, nearing transfer into a Tactical Squad. Devastators are typically armed with the biggest guns of the Imperium - Multimeltas, Heavy Bolters, Lascannons, Missles, you name it they fire it at the enemy. In this case, this Ultramarine is pointing his trusty Heavy Bolter at some Orks who are making the mistake of rushing his squad. Unless they really have numbers behind them I think this marine is gonna run out of room on his bolter to carve his kill count. If he keeps going I'm sure he'll be promoted. ;)
