Old art I still love:

In my Little Mermaid reinterpretation, the sea witch is a barracuda mermaid. Because I am terrified of barracudas and figured I should make use of that fear somehow.

Here we have Pi (name updated since I posted this on tumblr) concluding that when she thought she was prepared to face the sea witch… she was wrong.

Barracudas are all about deception. They hunt by facing their prey head on, so their prey has no concept of how large the barracuda is, and is lured into a false sense of security, thinking they’re being faced with a somewhat reasonably sized fish.
