Some charcoal drawing done in art class. They gave us two class periods to work on it so I managed to find time to put in some abstract background.
The art teacher really digs abstraction so I worked that angle a lot more in this.
It's a big drawing on 18x24 paper.

Skulls were my favourite things to draw back in the art school *nostalgic tear*. Also- I'm pretty jealous right now. I was never able to tame charcoal, this medium hates me to this day, I'm sure. You, on the other hand, seem to understand it perfectly.
It's a pretty amazing still life, dude :3

It was fun to work with a new medium... That's why I went to art classes. To learn new mediums... but unfortunately... that's not exactly what they were teaching in art class. They expected you to know every medium and technique, fffffffff. I still dunno what exactly they were trying to teach me... I just tried to do what he teacher liked seeing mostly. I think the class was mostly aimed at learning how to draw a whole shit ton of stuff.
Well, this seems to be the most common problem with most art schools. They don't even give you enough time to tame the medium, or to at least get comfortable with it...which sometimes can be good, because you're more spontaneous this way, but most of the time it was just annoying as hell. I remember.
And about that 'do what they like, just to get a pass-fuck what you really want and need to draw' is the only plus that I didn't make it into the academy of fine arts ahaha...

well, some of the assignments were in mediums we never did in class... which just confounded and enraged me. I thought it was bullshit to expect something from someone that you didn't even teach. I hate to knock the teacher since she was a nice person, but I was pretty annoyed and fed up with her class... especially after talking to other art teachers that seemed to have students that were head of the game and better taught. My point is, you are a "teacher", fuckin teach something.
Well, that wasn't even the tough part of the class. It wasn't a bad thing ultimately for me to just rip off what she wanted to see, since it helped me draw in way I might not normally draw, but what mostly annoyed me is that the class was painful and unbenificial to be in, and had an often overwhelming workload.
I learned a lot about school though... whatever, it was fine. I know what to expect next time.
