The other day (March 13, 2019), I was reunited with my good friend from the Northeast,
Mejeep - who I haven't seen in years. He was staying up in a relative's condo in Boca Raton, Florida, where he'd already made plans for our get-together...
Said plans included visiting the Ikea store in Sunrise, as well as the Disney Character Warehouse - at "Sawgrass Mills (Outlet Mall)" - lunch at a Smokey Bones in Plantation, a visit to Tate's Comics in Lauderhill, and (finally) a tour of my brother Glenn's Margate condo apartment (which is tantamount to visiting a museum, considering all the collectables [musical memorabilia, sports nostalgia, family heirlooms, etc.], scattered about the place).
During our visit to Tate's Comics, I took a few digital pictures (with the camera feature of my year-old smartphone) of Mejeep next to the 'Hulk' statue, standing in the middle of the store. Since I was already wearing my 'Usagi Yojimbo' T-shirt, I'd asked him if he could take a picture of me - holding on to a hardcover copy of "The Sakai Project" (a 2014 collection of drawings of the rabbit ronin as done by other artists, which I already own). He complied, and took a picturesque snapshot of moi, with some of the store's interesting venues in the background.

I had good times with Jed, making the best of helping my parents in their final days. The Ramblewood Diner near Jed still had real cooked meals (not microwaved) and daily specials. Tate's and the local comic shops were fun, and the Disney Character Store (for whatever was left over from the park stores - it was catch-as-catch-can). And Jed was ALWAYS busy with something for a furry publication or the Scrabble group.
