After a devastating failure in the city of Towa Gande where a cult was... somewhat successful malicious plans to destroy the city with a magical bomb. While his party was able to lessen the destructive power of the bomb, they wasn't quite able to escape the blast. Through sheer luck and ability our heroic wyvaran escapes the blast... however many of his party members and close friends was reduced to ash and the other two that survived hanged up their adventuring cloaks. Devastated at this loss, Balquin resolves himself to no longer fight from a distance. From then on, he would fight ahead of his friends and destroy those that would wish to take away that which he holds dear to him. The wyvaran ranger now fights with two elemental bastard swords, one coated in the sinister acid of the emerald queen he serves and the other crackling with nature's most potent force... He no longer wears his mask and he no longer is as kind as he once was. May all fear the tenacity of a dragon wronged...

I absolutely love this piece, showing the fierce attitude that this once archer has taken on to defend what he loves. At level 10 the party almost go wiped and nearly everyone rolled new characters. I instead asked to remake Balquin into close up fighter. His bow and mask now standing next to his friend's memorial as a tribute to them and his past.
