(Read the entire story here: www.zachcooner.com
This is actually the first page in a long form TF sequence so I put it in the TF category)
Let me just start out by saying I definitely did NOT think I'd be able to draw this scene when I first began project Zach Cooner, and that drawing a protest is hard XD
Between progressing the story, putting the bubbles where they need to go, making aesthetic/dynamic panels, inking appropriately so the eye flows, and making the bubble not interfere with the environment- it was quite a tall task and the most time I spent on a page since the first 18 pages of the comic. Somehow, someway, I got it done though and I'm quite proud of the results.
So here's the situation on this scene:
It's not unheard of for people to be operating at unorthodoxed hours of the day/night. Unlike our society (which the majority of us sleep during the night) the existence of werecritters for the last 50 years have changed work culture. Feranthropes are BIG money market for companies (since they have necessities like clothes, medicines, insurance, healthcare, and other services they HAVE to have to function)
So a lot of companies started staying open for 24 hours to make more profit and increase productivity.
It started with a few, but, like a capitalistic domino effect, other companies followed suit and soon society became acquainted with operating at all hours of the day (though still, more sleep at night)
So a big protest early in the morning isn't out of the ordinary, it might as well be the afternoon for some and the issue IS important enough.
The fearful pedestrians have had it with unruly feranthropes causing mayhem, and are demanding the government enforce a curfew on Feranthropes in the city (again). Like I said, story based actions have consequences...this is one of them.
