My first half of
kilroy 's commission. Now, I just wait and see if I need to change anything, and then, it's off to make the pattern for the toy. Gosh, shi looks so huggable...
I have a really cool upholstery jacquard in just that shade of green, and it has a great scale pattern woven into it- not printed, which is awesome. It won't ever rub off, or distort, like a print would. So, the jacquard will be on the body, I have a panne velvet in a very slightly darker green- that'll be for the wings, and a micro-suede in a slightly greener shade for the belly. I have cream vinyl for the horns and eye-patches, big yellow plushie eyes, several shades of pink satin for the mouth and tongue and a plain brown vinyl for the scutes along hir back (I also have a small piece of brown in a similar shade with a shiny black scale-pattern on it- if Kilroy wants, I can incorporate it into the scute-design).
All in all, shi promises to be a huggly-squishy, wonderful bit of softness to sleep on.
This one is going to be another monster-sized beastie: eight-feet long from nose to tail-tip.

Is that even possible? *chuckles* I await the final verdict from
kilroy for that. Heh.
kilroy for that. Heh.
This is totally adorable. X3 I'm sure Kilroy will be more than happy with the finished product~
May I, however, make two tiny little corrections? I don't actually have those wee spikes on my elbows – or indeed spikes anywhere else on my form; that was my dragony father's thing! –, and my entire muzzle is a uniform shade of dark green. Other than that, however, it's so cute I almost want to ask Kilroy if I can have it! *giggles*

Those brown plates do in fact run along my entire back and two thirds of my tail. :O They offer excellent protection against attacks against an area that virtually no predatorial animal would ever be interested in attacking!
Also, because I CAN, I'm going to go ahead and randomly say this: You're a totally pretty dragoness. I had to say that.

*copies him* There, now you can take him home. The "original' has to go to
kilroy Heh.

Soooo not that big right XD Thatll be a lot of stuffing for it I suspect. Youll have to sew it extra strong as well. May not sound like much, but the weight will add up. You double somethings size and you add by a [base two] factor to its weight (2x2x2=8 vs 4x4x4=64 vs 8x8x8=512 etc).
Heh, yer such a nerd, hon! *huggles* Yeah, it's going to be eight feet long, nose to tail-tip, or there abouts. I use polyfill, so it's actually a lot lighter than you'd expect- it probably weighs less than twenty pounds. And yes, it uses a LOT of stuffing. I had a huge bag of the stuff when I did Big Red (another dragon of similar size)- the bag was three feet high by six feet in diameter, and i used just over half of it for that one plushie.
I do the same, as clothing and costume design (and plushie) is engineering with cloth, in a way. There are structural things that are necessary to a garment, problems I have to fix, and so on. I even use math in drafting the patterns. Heh. I'm not very good at the last part. *chuckles* I do a lot of troubleshooting by eye, and mental visualization, actually. It's a weird technique, but it seems to work for me.
I dunno where you're going with those numbers, but I clicked on "soldier" and got "nurse" instead. Highly annoying. But we're all Toy Soldiers in the Cause For A Utopian Playland! *giggles* Gonna try and have a Steampunk outfit for FC's Invasion. Don't have any patches for my stuff, tho'. Waaaah! They were out of them and haven't had any more made that I know of. If you know anyone who has some spare Toy Soldier arm patches that I can beg, buy or steal them from in time for FC, let me know?
Ah, I haven't heard all of his music, yet- maybe somebody can get me his CD for Christmas? I actually joined up because of the whole laugh-factor involved. A Toy Soldier Army just hit me in my "this is totally cool and relevant to my interests" node. I'm starting my uniform, tho- got a great shirt and any number of black cargo pants- now I just need some verdammt patches. Fardles. Fae sent me some stickers, tho', along with a bottle of mead. Yum! Now, to find me some cool goggles for cheap that I build stuff on- I have a pair I use when I'm working with the kiln, but they're not the cool round-lens kind... Rawr.
This buddy of yours, did he leave army or get bored and maybe has no use for the patches? Heh.
And I know what a Fibonacci Sequence is, I just don't understand them well- not a math person, me.

Well, that seems simple enough. I've mostly encountered Fibbonacci Sequences as parts of math puzzles asking you to figure out what the next number in the sequence is supposed to be, though the ones I remember don't seem to follow the exact progression you've got there. *wonders if there are different kinds* And please don't laugh at me for my math fail- it's nothing I can do anything about- I have to live with the embarrassment of being unable to do problems in my head enough already, ok?
And I've found JediMom on TSU- we're talkin' patches. Yay! Maybe I'll have some by FC!

Hooooly crap this is adorable! *wiggles!* Is shi done yet? I don't wanna wait to snuggle hir now! :(
Aside from what
arimah pointed out, I can't see much else that would need to be changed! Except for the pink bits; I believe any fleshy parts need to be a deepish red; kind of like raw beef red. As for the scute fabric pattern; as interesting as the black scale pattern would be, I'm afraid I'm going to have to forgo that for hir.
All in all though, this is really looking promising! I can't wait to see (and eventually get!) the end result!

Rawr! I'll be glad to do one for ya! This one will be the third plushie I've made for FA folks. I've made a number of tails and one pair of "ears" (head-wings, actually- for a dragonair cosplay), two dragon-heads and I'm working on foot-paws, now. Go have a nose through the gallery, you'll find most of the stuff I just mentioned (except the feet- they aren't finished).
Oh, I'm familiar with the WWII reference, actually- it's why I find
kilroy 's name so amusing.
