Well, as you all may know, I've had quite a bit on my plate as of late. However I still wanted to make 'Star Day 2019' 120% awesome! So I got the assistance of a most wonderful author named Fabulous Diva Rarity to create the following tender tales of innocence and love.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/43.....aiting-for-you
The tale of what happened between Twilight hatching Spike and how Princess Celestia raised him until the time was right for Twilight to take on such an important responsibility..
COURAGE:
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/433724/courage
A look back on how Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy built their friendship along with a peek into the varying parenting styles of Mr. and Mrs. Shy and Dashie's parents.
***
More fun to come throughout the day! Star Day is always meant to be special for not just myself, but all my pals as well. :)

Thanks, Zoomer! *Snugs* How I can't believe how long I've been able to celebrate this occasion with all our pals.
Do you still remember my first one here over 11 years ago? Kazootles! That was when I brought you, Tacki, MJ, and other pals in for the first adventure in Quack-Quack's Learning Farm[/I]. Oh how we've done so many fun things since. :)

*Snugs* Thank you, Tacki. It is the friendship that has truly made it magic this year.
It truly is impressive how much having friends is when you are working towards feeling positive when all around seems negative. I thank you for everything and look forward to checking out all you've shared very soon. :)

Happy Star Day! It's a nice pleasant picture of the princess and Spike together! Very sweet and cuddly, just like our baby dino ducky buddy here. :3 Aw, on my birthday or around it I usually buy myself a few things too - so you getting stories and art commissions are a great way to enjoy yourself! I'm glad you've got plenty of fun art and writing to celebrate yet another special year~! Happy birthday buddy. :3
Thanks so much, Nishi. *Snugs* I'm very happy that I was able to still spend the day with all my pals through sharing stories and thoughts and all the stuff that makes Star Day, well, Star Day.
*Big cuddly snugs* Thanks for helping to make it extra special, too, dearest Oxnard. You never fail to make me smile.

Here is another mother-son picture I think you may love -- even though it is kind of weird. (It features Luna and a hypothetical male alicorn.)
Does it seem like your family is worried that someone will hurt and/or take advantage of you?
I know of lots of folks, especially when I was at the Colorado Center Of The Blind, who had over-protective parents who felt the special needs of their child meant they were not able to do things that, well, you really can do if given the right tools to do so.
The scariest tale I heard was of a fellow in his 20s was scared to take a shower by himself and needed someone to bathe him. Blind showering is honestly not so bad. My first venture into it was a little scary but, being the goofball I am, I just thought of "What Would The Invisible man Do?". :)
*Snugs* We'll find a way to make you a part of the convention, my friend. I'll do my best to bring it to you.

Would your mom like me to say "Hello!" to her over on Facebook? I don't want to come off as a creepy stranger if I send a message and/or try to friend her.
*Shrugs* It's natural to have fears as a result of having limitations. I get very uncomfortable going places with people I don't trust 100%. I dread feeling stuck in a place of discomfort with no way out and nobody truly having my back. So I definitely relate to having fears brought on as a result of having limitations. :(
BronyCon has made me nervous every year. However it has always worked out as a friend will often spend time with me throughout the day. When one goes one place another tends to want to go to somewhere we both want to go. Plus I have been building a larger group of pals who I tend to find as I walk the halls.
It is an expensive trip. I'm still trying to make ways to properly afford it. However I'm going to do it. Yep, yep, yep!

BABSCon takes place in the Bay Area of San Francisco, right? I've heard it does as well as Everfree Northwest. If you get to one of those, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
I'll try to get to sending greetings on Facebook a tad later today. Perhaps tomorrow? I'm working my 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM shift and they are taxiing on my energy outside of performing my job responsibilities. *Shrugs*

If Princess Celestia's protective nature ever scares me at times, I just need to remember what it is she seeks to protect: precious friends like this. (I suspect the comic books make her seem somewhat scarier than in the TV show.) If I always throw myself at her mercy -- and share the kindness she shows me -- then I should be certain beyond a reasonable doubt that I am one of her loved ones.
The show often paints Celestia as a warmhearted, but naïve, ruler. She has all sorts of good intentions but very little ability to really defend against any sort of direct attack by living things.
I suppose Celestia, having spent 1,000 years in relative peace, would have learned pacifism is better than aggressive. Sadly this helped her very little during a lot of key moments throughout "Friendship Is Magic".
Great maternal figure, yes! Leader and defender, not really.
Good thing she is retiring. :)

In my series, the main Princess is not really naive about outsiders -- but she is rather naive about her own people. Skysparkle learned only some basics about how to run an administration; she never really asked her father (whom she hired as the first Prime Minster) to teach her much more than that. (If she had been a prince, perhaps her father would have pushed the issue a little.)
All this time, Skysparkle has relied on her friends, family, and the friends of friends to carry the bulk of her responsibility as the key administrator. She has often blindly trusted the goodwill of her friends and family, along with their friends and family. Over the centuries, this has become a house of cards. And this has allowed a town like Foalstown to exist -- the pony equivalent of Youngstown. Her new Captain of the Royal Intelligence shares her good intentions, and he is starting to catch on -- but he certainly cannot fix the situation alone.
The Royal Guard used to be a force Skysparkle could rely on to build a protective bubble around her -- one that could leave everything around her at her mercy. In recent centuries, their discipline and manners have gradually gone far south -- far more than she realizes. Her new Captain of the Royal Guard shares her good intentions -- but he certainly cannot fix the situation alone.
By the way, I would really love to see Shining Armor get promoted as a father figure for Equestria -- the father figure who puts the mares above himself. Together with the mares, he would be nurturing the royal guard to be an effective force of friendship themselves. He has father-figure status in the Crystal Empire, but I'm not sure the rest of the kingdom has gotten the message. In rebuilding the Elements of Harmony, it appears that a 7th one ought to be added (perhaps "Chivalry"). (As far as I can tell, he doesn't necessarily need to be an alicorn to have quasi-immortality. As I recall, the Old Pillars of Equestria didn't need that property.)
