During his time spent in hiding with his misterious helper, Jake was trying to recover from the loss of his family and worked on turning back to who he was before turning into a monster, and at the same time training to turn his newfound powers into good use, as a sort of revenge towards the ones who almost turned him into a killer. Eleven years later, he arrived at Viridian City, wirh a new name and identity, although his closest friends, the ones who helped him recover knew who he is and kept his secret safe. One of his friends offered him a job at the local computers and tech store and jake accepted. At day, he was Douglas Derryck, a kind and mild-mannered tech store salesman, at night, a brutal vigilante, among villains called Judgement, who swept some of the toughest criminals off the streets. His actions soon caught attention of the two Viridian City's famous superheroes, Diamondback (Vanilla Swirl) and Stormfist (Jason Blaze) who managed to catch up with the unknown vigilante just as he defeated and severely wounded one of the criminals they were looking for for a long time. Diamondback wasnt fond of his brutal methods and began arguing with him, only to end up being ignored as he left off. Since then they crossed paths on numerous occasions, either bickering with each other or helping each other out.
Like fate wanted it to be so, Douglas (Jake) soon became friends with Vanilla and two began spending a lot of time together, a certain spark appearing between them, yet both being unaware of each other being the superhero/vigilante they occasionally run into...
