I love this alternate character design of me so freaking much! In addition to getting a colorful badge of my usual male self, I also commissioned a gender-bent (male-to-female) drawing of me at this year's Fur the 'More convention, this fantastic and really creative artwork being made by Shadra Avro. While I'm comfortable with being male, I like seeing perspectives from people across various gender identities (including non-binary and transgender backgrounds) and life experiences, and I've always liked creative media themes that involve interacting with society as another sex. Personally, I identify as male but consider myself as having a fairly active feminine side, although gender expression is an elaborate subject that I should definitely research more; I'm happy to learn more over time!

Anyhow, while I'll keep most artwork of myself male, I really appreciate the individual (and incredibly expressive) details that the artist brought to this female depiction; the midriff top looks practical and has a lovely design that shows a workout-like look, her facial features are positively charming, the subtle physique differences are impressive, and she has a very relaxed posture, among other things. Shadra is also an extremely friendly person to communicate with; he was really understanding with me wanting to review certain details and ideas too. You should definitely commission him when you get the chance, and look at his other uploaded art too!

I like the idea of this version of my ferret self going by Melle; it's a lovely and fitting name. That said, I'm not sure how often I'll get artwork of her yet, but I could definitely explore her more in some future drawings or writing; what do you think?
