Let me introduce you to Prime, a big buff Lion hero I created some time ago.

Prime's story, a bit of it at least.
No one really knows who he was. Widely considered Earth's best and possibly first hero ever. Over time, the populace grew to know him as their protector and their savior. Prime was a beacon of hope for the people, he also implored the remaining gifted superfurs to step up and follow his lead. Superfurs rose up with him in earnest to aid the furs of Earth. Superfurs acted in conjunction with the world's governments to avoid as much tension as possible. The populace enjoyed the fact that there were superfurs constantly on the lookout. However; people always fear what they don't understand. The press painted them as the most powerful force on the planet and what was to stop them if they went rogue? Leaders of Earth's countries began to cast doubts on Prime's motives and all other heroes in general. Prime's attempts to reassure the masses that the superfurs intentions are purely for the benefits of the good of all citizens. Despite Prime's best attempts to ease the tension, escalations still rose and was about to boil over, then the aliens invaded. No one saw it coming and the alien attack was quick and devastating. Prime and the entire roster of Earth's heroes took on the alien horde head on but suffered major casualties. The alien's highly advanced technology reduced Earth's military forces and heroes to nearly nothing in the span of a week. With their self-sustaining mothership hovering over the arctic, it did not matter how many of their soldiers fell. Their ship kept a steady stream of reinforcements due to their on board portal which linked to their homeworld. Prime, along with the remaining heroes left stole a small alien ship and boarded the mothership. The boarding party made it to the portal and were unable to destroy it. Prime decided to use his powers to overload the portal while his comrades held off the aliens the best they could. The mothership was enveloped in a bright light then fell to the icy surface in flames. Prime and his team were presumed dead since none of their bodies were found. However; Prime was the only survivor of the explosion. He then disappeared without a trace, allowing the world to think that there were no heroes remaining. For 60 years the world was left to rebuild. Society was advancing fast, partially due to the alien technology left behind, and no heroes emerged.
