So I'm continuing with illustrations for my story. I wasn't entirely happy with the way the original picture of the Soul Collectors turned out (and especially scanned), so I wanted to draw just one of them again. I'm amazed by how easy these are to draw - for once it feels like I can actually transfer the images in my head straight onto the paper. I used references for the pose, of course, but that's not the point. In any case, I'm obsessed and will go to draw more...

a very nice picture - even though i must admit that save for the eyes the horse doesn t look very "demonic" to me it rather seems to be just a beautiful black horse to me. - maybe that is because everyone has different imaginations about what is "demonic" and what not. Nontheless its a great work - looking forward for more of your pictures
Thanks! I think aside from the red eyes, it's his job description that makes him a creature to be feared. By some people anyway. He is not evil, but only in a similar sense as death is not evil.
Next drawing in the series is half drawn, but I'll have to spend much of the weekend studying, so I'm afraid there might be a delay before any more art is done. :)

If you have died in the desert, they will take your soul to the afterlife (whatever it may be). If you are a traitor on the desert, your soul will end up somewhere really unpleasant. If you are neither, the brothers will completely ignore you. They still look scary, though, so most of the desert folk will make a point of not wandering around after dark.
