A belated birthday gift for a close friend.

The character's name is Ahziah. She belongs to a fictional species known as 'palaar' from my friend's personal worldbuilding project.
Easily mistaken for reptiles due to their anatomy, palaar are in fact feathered mammals that more closely resemble fruitbats than anything else, albeit having only vestigial wings thanks to evolutionary bamboozles.

Ahziah is a soldier for the empire of Siildaa. Specifically, she and her squad are a part of the Legion, who are state-sponsored monster hunters tasked with the hunting and extermination of deadly bioweapons known as chimera.

Chimera are artificially-created monsters designed chiefly for the purpose of war and mass destruction. Bred and released en masse 1000 years ago during an apocalyptic war that nearly razed the entire planet and caused civilisation to be sent back into the Dark Ages, many of these beasts still roam the land, preying on the weak and innocent. The Legion is a branch of the military dedicated to the extermination of these ancient abominations wherever they may be found, and to be a part of it is a mark of great esteem.

Also, yes she knows the red of her armour clashes with the blue of her feathers. No, she doesn't like it either. And no, she can't do anything about it--it's her uniform.
