This is a song that's been a long time in-the-making...
I've had the chorus and first verse finished for...ack...damn near a year. It was kind of frustrating, since I absolutely love the chorus of this song, but I didn't have the rest of the lyrics.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, but I'm still open to critique and suggestions.

Whatever happened to words like "forever?"
It seems like whatever we say is a lie
And I'd give more than anything just for the chance
To see what you're hiding behind those sad eyes...
If I knew the right words to say
Would you still turn around? Would you still walk away?
I'm not the one on your mind now; it's all said and done
The nights keep dragging on and on and...
My heart's still beating; my fire's burning!
All around me the worlds keeps turning...
Shut it off with just one word
And in a heartbeat, baby, we could stop the world
Take my hand; let's run away!
Forget the world of yesterday...
Shut it off with just one word
And in a heartbeat, baby, we could stop the world...
(Baby we could stop the world...)
Whatever happened to Valentine weather?
It's faded away to a freezing December...
I still see your face through the cafe glass
Take's a moment to remember I'm just living the past
But I'd give you my heart, my soul, and my love
I'd give you stars in the sky up above
But I'm lost in the way it used to be
And I'm frozen; stuck in a memory...
(Chorus)
Whatever happened to "unconditional"
Swept away; it's almost fiction
All you know is "irresistible"
It's a love so reminiscible
You keep your "possibilities"
And I'll keep my stupid chivalry
I'm a record stuck on repeat
Still stuck on you and me...
(chorus)

That's a very beautiful chord progression there. It's almost hope inspiring.
Also like what you did with the verses, since they seem to go in a sequence - Shock, then lonely/grieving, then a little bitter, and ending back with the more hopeful chorus. All in all, it's quite the impressive song, and it sounds a good bit like you're speaking from the heart here.

Thank you <3. I'm absolutely flattered ^^;;.
It wasn't an easy song to write. Every single piece has its own place in time. The chorus and first verse took the loss of something beautiful. The second: realizing I needed to move on.
Finishing the song, though, took finding something so much better.

my idea was along the lines of Johnny Cash doing 'Hurt' - but that might be too slow.
