I want to ask. Do the characters live in Tokyo or new mexico/Mexico? I want to ask cause I feel confuse where the main characters both this prequal and main story

Main story Gab, Bau and Wang live in Mexico.
This story has Gab's dad traveling to Mexico, meeting his future wife there. Now, they've gone back to Tokyo to meet his parents and most likely have their kids there.
We know Gab will live in Mexico eventually, but his dad, and his brother, Shiro, stayed in Tokyo. Gab's mom passed (not known if in Mexico or Tokyo), and her grave remains in Mexico.
