- Her voice was but a whimper as she leaned back on the tree. She tried to hold back the new sobs that creeped in her throat, but failed as her claws dug into the top of her head in frustration. Aria stared at her, holding back her own tears.

"... of course I still cared..." She said suddenly, her voice nearly a whisper. Micas ears perked slightly and she glanced up, her cheek fur slightly matted from tears.

"... w-what...?" She whimpered. Her breath caught as the vampire gave a slight, fond smile, standing on the branch once more. She then hopped off, moving her wings to lower her gently to the ground. Mica shot forward as if on instinct, holding out her arms to catch the vampire. She took in a shaky breath as Aria landed in her arms, looking at her as she ran a gentle hand through the fur on her cheek.

"I never stopped caring, Mica..." she said softly. "It hurt when we fought... and it hurt when you said what you did." She pressed her face to the fur as the wolf flinched. "But what hurt the most was when you left... I could have taken all of that and been fine the next morning. But watching you run out and away was the most pain in had felt in many years... hundreds, even..." She gave a sad chuckle as she spoke. She then pulled away, running her fingers through the silver fur as Mica set her down. "I have missed you terribly... and I had hoped you would return... and you did." -

I actually started this a few months ago and it's been sitting in my files since then
And then I listened to the song, reread the story, and got the motivation again :'D
