Well since I hadn't been all that active postin'-wise lately, havin' been kept busy an all with so many other things, I did at least wanna share with y'all the progress on workin' on m'latest costume ta at least give ya some insight inta what I do ta make them...
Now some of ya may recall how I did/do string tetherin' ta help me hold whatever additional materials desired fer gettin' heads ta look the way I want'em an so here's ya another example'a how I attach any horns/antlers ta head pieces. After each antler is generally anchored by the string tethers until I am satisfied with it's position, the antler base is given it's first dose of adhesive ta secure it to it's skull base.
The antlers are then given additional string tethers ta press them in tighter an firmer against the skull base and then this is given a second dose of adhesive and then wrapped (in this case with thin strips of black velvet around the antler base) and then after that has set it's given a third glossin' of adhesive around the edges of the velvet strips ta help further secure the antlers in place...
Once all this has set, in the process'a gluein' the 'skin/fur' coverin' over the front of the headpiece will give it a forth coverin' of adhesive so ya can bet these antlers will be held well in place by the time this is finished.
So anyways now this gives ya some idea of one of the methods that may be used ta attach any horns/antlers ta any thing ya might be intrested in doin' when makin' yer own crafts/costumes.
Once this has totally cured I can begin workin' on the next phases of His head an hopefully soon he shall be ready fer his first public showin'... so hope ya like how it's comin' along so far. :)
