The fiance
and I ventured up to Steamtown in Scranton, PA today and braved the rain to wander about and look at all the wonderful old steam engines and learn about the history of rail travel. They had some real behemoths there too. This one one of the bigger engines, I believe a 284 [types were based on wheel confuguration and were given a nickname as well]. The museum is free and sometimes they do inexpensive train rides as well, so anyone in the northeastern Pennsylvania area should definitely check it out!
