Well, what I do when thinking of making a character, is write down some ideas on paper (or canvas in my case)
then I'll quick sketch out some body types and play around by mixing some ideas to the bodies I've drawn.
Like, using Cocoa for a example;
Cocoa, Fat Bottom Girl, Shy, Nervous around boys, loves to eat chocolate.
