This is the first Pattable Picture I've put on FA, so an explanation...
In case you can't tell, it's a picture made by glueing fur fabric to a cardboard background. They start off as a drawing on paper, which I cut out into its component parts and trace on to the fur.
The background is the most difficult to get right, because there's always some shift between the original paper version of the animal (which I always put too much detail into) and the final fur version. I can't just lay the background down underneath, because the top edge of the fur fabric sheds and looks ugly if it doesn't have something touching / covering it. Luckily fabric stretches and bends and I can usually convince it to go where it has to.
So, yes, Pattable Pictures. I would very much like to do commissions of these - US$30 including the postage, any takers?
This one's 23 x 30cm (size of random bit of cardboard I chose). Could do up to a longest side of 40cm at the above price.
