Maple Drake Studios - First Show Table!
Hoo doggie! I have been one busy bee, crafting up a storm -- to prepare for this event! :D
My town was having a craft-and-food fair in the local high school gymnasium, and a Chamber of Commerce member was kind enough to forward me an application since they'd seen my business card out and about in town. (In case you didn't know, I've opened up a small shop to sell eco-friendly candles and crafts of various kinds to liven your lair, whatever or wherever it may be -- Maple Drake Studios. :3 ) It was my first time selling my wares in person, so I WAY underestimated how much table space I needed -- next time? TWO folding tables so I don't have to repurpose boxes as table extensions! XD
The weather slowed traffic a lot, but I still managed to meet a bunch of great people, make a bit of profit, and most of all, make a lot of people smile. So all in all? A great first show, and I'm already hype for the next opportunity to attend one I get! :D
(Tip from me for anyone else looking to do something similar? Take a book of stickers or two, or more, with you. Offer them to young kids who might come poking around your table. They'll be so happy -- AND they'll often bring their caretakers over to check out your table, too, as a bonus!)
Now to photograph all the bath bombs, wax melts, new candles, soaps, salve, and lip balm I made to debut at the show so I can actually put them on Etsy... ^^;
