The Dakota Bikers are known for their stifling D. Someone forgot to tell B-Hop that.
A fantastic MFF commission from the extremely talented and straight-up awesome guy
mongoose_ink!
I can't remember who said it, but I showed this pic to someone at MFF and he said, "That looks painful."

OMG! That's a thunderous dunk! That... er... skunk guy went flying!
Ok, not sure who is getting smashed on, since there is a skunk (Toby Papanastasolopoulos, #69) and a #8 (Michael Lee, Puma) but no #8 skunk!!! So... maybe this was in Buck's rookie or sophomore season and the poor posterized mephit was sent packing to another team since then. ;)
So what NBA players were in the photo you showed the artist when you got this masterpiece? ;)

When I gave this commission to
mongooseink, I handed him a reference picture of Kwame Brown (Yes, really!) doing this massive dunk against one of the Lakers (YES! REALLY!!). I say "one of the Lakers" because the angle of the picture was such, you couldn't see the name or jersey number of the Laker getting dunked on.
I wanted B-Hop to be the dunker, but I didn't really care who the dunkee was, so I asked Mitch what species he'd most like to draw. He picked a skunk, so I ran through the roster real quick and the first skunk I found was Papa Nasty on the Bikers, so I just told him to make sure the skunk was in a Raiders-colored uniform, and the rest was gravy.
Obviously, when I got the pic back, the angle was just enough that there was a number on the jersey now-- and I had never given Mitch a jersey number to use so he made up his own. I knew when I posted it, someone was going to point out that the problem with the skunk's jersey!
I still love this pic! I know I can nit-pick artists to death about proper gear, uniform design, number positions on the jerseys, etc... but in my mind, none of that detail is as important as just getting across action and excitement.
And I find this picture very action-packed and very exciting!

I would so watch that movie if it came out.
Every now and then, you do get some kind of ridiculous ninja-esque action on a basketball court. It's part of why the game has an international appeal. When played truly well, basketball is one of the most dynamic, varied, and athletic sports in the world!
