Sadly the Sega Saturn was really hard to develop for (had a dual core system), which is why it's so hard to find emulated games for it. On top of that, developers would often just toss their code when the game launched, so they would literally have to restart the game from scratch, as all those assets are likely long gone :(

For me, it was the 16-bit console era (and, being a middle schooler then, I was an obnoxious little Nintendo partisan)! That was a minority opinion in my school and boy scout troop, too. By that time, though, there was no one left to stick up for the Turbo Graphix.

Me and my sister had that rivalry. She chose Nintendo and I piked Sony.
She ended up trying to take my PlayStation more times then I could count because she didn't have many games for her N64 and I had dozens. Got even worse when I got a PS2 as she would try to take it from me daily. >.<

Weirdly I tend to go back-and-forth between Sony and Nintendo. I went from SNES -> PS1 -> Gamecube -> PS3 -> Switch

I would own both systems during each gen, but I always heavily preferred one over the other, and it happened to be the opposite each gen.

I used to have them all until I got into PC gaming. I do miss my old gaming days but I still love my PC :D

To be honest it wasn't a terrible assumption, considering how the Wii U bombed and the Switch felt someone rushed and desperate... But they struck gold like the Wii!

Though if this trend continues of mass success and failure... Next console's future isn't lookin too bright.

I remember back when Gamecube was struggling, and everyone thought Wii would flop too. Nintendo is just so unpredictable, but generally every other system of theirs tends to be a hit, nowadays.

It probably helps that the last few times Nintendo missed targets the CEO took a pay cut to avoid slashing staff. That's got to do a lot to keep up moral

Sadly, the odds of Saga getting a rerelease are very low. The story is that SEGA lost the source code for Saga a long time ago, meaning a remaster would require building the 'new' Saga from scratch. That's likely to be a much harder sell than just porting the code to a new platform.

It's a shame, I was lucky enough to get to play it back when it first came out in 1998, it's still one of my all time favorite games.

Gamecube ;3 It's my fav Nintendo console, but it was a poor seller too. Even with the price drop to $99.

There is no way the gamecube was a poor seller! It's still regarded as one of, if not THE best Nintendo console.

Gamecube is a great console, but it barely cracked 20 million. That's pretty bad for a home console. There were a lot of concerns at the time that Nintendo was on a steady decline and would go handheld only. Wii reversed that trend, and then it continued to decline with Wii U, until Switch.

I love the Switch. It's really cool, and such a novel, yet simple idea to make a hybrid console. It's like what the Wii U always wanted to be.

My fav system of all time is the PS1, and my fav game of all time is the original Doom ;3

Gamecube is my favourite Nintendo system. It had some of the best entries in many Nintendo franchises, plus the best Resident Evils and such.

Nintendo has its highs and lows. I have a personal pet theory that no console-maker stays on top for more than two gens. They usually get cocky and mess up, and have to struggle to retain their top position.

also after looking it up even though the virtual boy sucked it still managed to move 700k units worldwide gen 1 Nintendo gen 2 Nintendo gen 3 Playstation gen 4 bit more of a toss up i liked gamecube and PS2 Gen 5 i liked 360 but i heard PS3 was good this gen im all for PS4 is clear head i could be bias but i think playastation has been pretty consistantly the top leader its been a war between sony and microsoft while nintendo just sorra sits to the side doing its own thing

all this talk about retro games on switch somehow reminded me that they brought my favorite FPS game TUROK from N64 to switch! i just don't have the money to buy it. that just means i have a goal to work towards!

REALLY? that's AWESOME! I wish they'd bring TUROK 3: Shadow of Oblivion and TUROK Rage Wars to the switch also. but nightdive studios didn't remaster either of those. those 4 were my favorite games on N64, apart from SM64 and Yoshi's Story.

They're a small studio. If Turok 2 does well, they might consider 3 and 4!
