Get it? Getting a head? Oh nevermind.
Hot damn, I am starting to like it. Still a way to go but making some progress. Only a few days to TFF to go. It is going to be close.
I made a few changes since my last post. I widen the back with a spade shape piece of foam though you can't see it in this picture. I can submit it if anyone is curious. It made a noticeable difference view from the front area by making it look not so narrow. I still need to fix the jaw line as it is a little crooked to the side.
I also made more permanent set of eyes out of Aida, which is like a finer buckram type material. I wish it turned out better but it'll do. I want to eventually use some more realistic pair.
I made the nose ridges by cutting slits in the 1/2 inch foam (the pink stuff) and push up the edge while hot-gluing the lower edge to the upper edge of the next ridge. I think it makes for a smoother transition than just gluing extra foam and trimming it down. That would have been a nightmare trying to keep it symmetrical. It is hard enough keeping the rest of the head straight.
A few more tweaks to the foam like the ears and I am ready to skin this monstrosity. I found a nice, shiny dark teal after some searching. A little too dark but better than what I could find before, a much light aqua color fleece. I could looked some more but time is short. Couldn't find a nice golden-tan color for the neck/throat area so I am settling on this boring regular tan fleece.
I really don't think I can do the horns in time, even some crappy placeholders. If anyone know a quick-n-dirty way of slapping something there, let me know.
