I was out working in my back yard on Sunday, when I heard the droning noise of Doc approaching. I had to run inside to grab my camera, which was ready for me. This was the first photo I snapped and one of the best, I think. You can see that Doc flew directly overhead. I’ve never been good at judging distance, but I think it had to be only about 1000 feet above ground level (AGL in aviation parlance).
Doc, the recently restored B-29 Superfortress was in the air for a good part of this past weekend on training flights. I was fortunate enough to see this beautiful aircraft fly over my neighborhood multiple times on both Friday and Saturday (March 23-24).

I do love the sound of these. So rare now, though a more common sound when I was a kid. Now when I hear these types of engines, I know exactly what it is, and scramble for my camera as well. I should set up studio mic's sometime when I know one of them will be flying by.
You're very lucky indeed and quite honestly, I'm a bit jealous. I've always loved certain planes, like the FA-114C Tomcat , FA-118 Superhornet, A-10 Thunderbolt "Warthog" , and Seaplanes (as the then undiscovered Conwing L-16 SeaDuck from TaleSpin) , but it's only been until recent that I'd taken an interest in more of aviation. (It's slowly becoming a lost industry and I can't stand that)
