The Gatekeeper. A ravenous force of nature born from the bowels of the darkness, cast far away from the light. He acts as a test. For those who survive the jaws of this beast, they will find salvation or damnation. But the Gatekeeper is also a docile creature. Patient, passionate, and overall prideful. He sees one's true self for who they are. This is fact, because he pushes one to wits end. He casts them into the well for them to climb out. He answers the call of the challenge they set. The Gatekeeper does not hunt the lost or forgotten, he merely prohibits access until they are found and remembered. It takes a simple obstruction to plant the seed of determination that drives one to go beyond and reveal their true self. That is the task of the Gatekeeper.

The power of the Gatekeeper is strong. Even in the darkness, the vast void of nothingness, one can find aid. As feared and misunderstood the darkness is, it can also be a place of peace and paradise. Away from the blinding light, warmth of its glow, and the comfort of it's presence. The darkness harbors the ones who can survive, the ones who are brave and courageous. the ones who have nothing to fear for they are the ones who cause fear. This was the breeding ground of The Gatekeeper. And along his travels becoming the Wanderer of Darkness himself, he discovered sources of power that impacted his journey.

The Sigil of Passion. With this source of strength The Gatekeeper knew the value of hard work. Setting a goal and achieving it. He learned how to work with others to strive for his goals and along the way he found strength in others.

The Sigil of Love. The unspoken desire to spend one's life with another was something extraordinary for The Gatekeeper. It was unorthodox to find your other half in the endless sea of shadow. He found the strength to connect and understand different Wanderers of Darkness. He shared his experience and in turn they shared theirs.

The Sigil of Protection. An undying devotion to showing the weak how to be strong soon developed into a caring drive to protect those who are precious. The darkness is home to many vile and cruel beings, and some are left to perish with no way of defending themselves. The Gatekeeper understood this and found a new source of strength. To be strong for others.

The Sigil of Life. The darkness was all The Gatekeeper knew. And what he did not know, sooner became taboo to him. But with a little patience and a little guidance, The Gatekeeper stayed true to himself. He discovered the more he understood the world and worlds he traveled to the more he could appreciate what life as a whole could offer him. His eyes were opened and neither blinded or shrouded by light or dark.

And so, we have now taken a look in the sanctuary of The Gatekeeper. His endless battle with the Wayfinders challenge him. For they may think they know their way out of the darkness, but so long as there is darkness in their heart, they will have to face it. They will have to face...The Gatekeeper.
