Well, let's see here.
In relation to my [journal entry] about the contest earlier - I figured making a new reference would help the creative process for BOTH me & the participants.
My problem is, this character is a:
1.) muse;
___a. a guiding spirit
___b. a source of inspiration
___c. the power regarded as inspiring a poet, artist, thinker, etc.
TL;DR - it's meant to be 110% subject to differences withing each drawing and/or artistic style. Actually [this] and even [this] are prime examples. It's really hard to make a "reference" for something that's always viably changing in that sense.
The 2008 is still really useful, but I would like to make an update for the sake of having fresh references for the start of 2010 (and Lu's 5yr "birthday" is New Years). So I ask: what do you think would be most useful and/or needed in a reference of this sort?

                    There is not two characters.
Lummyn is an androgynous character, that, with the artist's choosing can be either male or female or neither.
All the characters depicted are all ONE IN THE SAME. Meaning the are all the same character. Whether the picture depicts them with boobs or not.
It would be like me drawing my fursona, whom is Androgynous, and whom I could variant from male to female, or neither. It's not two separate characters, just two representations of the same character. Granted that I would call the Male side Fead and the Female side Fayde. Same name, different spellings. *shrugs*
Shouldn't be that hard to grasp though. These are all Lummym. ;3 No matter what the look, or clothing style.
Also, why they have the big heavy collars, in the end, is irrelevant to the discussion, though I understand the curiosity. As far as I ever knew, other than what Nuka has said about the Al Bhed meaning; is that it's part of the artistic taste for the character. Not every little part of a character needs an reason. ;3
