WHOA THERE NELLY LOOK AT THIS NEW DESIGN. ITS NEW, ITS CRAZY, WHO KNOWS WHAT IM GONNA DO NEXT. LIVING ON THE EDGE.
for reals though after I realized so many people thought Chiima's design was ugly after I did that "rate my sona" journal, I got shook. I knew her design wasn't great by any means but idk I guess y'all just kind of solidified what I was afraid of and after that journal I kinda felt distanced from her. I've not been sure what to do about it until recently I figured I'd give a go at a redesign bringing back some old traits and some new ones.
Shes' still kind of weird and crazy and even though yyour guys' big complaints with her design was her hair and her tail being weirdly coloured, those are my favourite parts. she has my hair colour/style and I *like* the fact that her tail is randomly and suddenly light grey so fuck all y'all.

Aw man it sucks so many people were saying her design sucked :( it’s not like the character is supposed to cater to THEM and I thought the less-liked stuff was quirky! Not for me personally, but the design brought you joy so what’s it matter!!

Yeah idk I guess cause I'm easily suggestible and I need external validation to feel happiness I was just so heartbroken like "PEOPLE HATE HOW I LOOK WEH" but i think my distress was also a projection of the fact that I wasn't in love with her design anymore either and wanted to change it so I think it was just a catalyst that helped me make a move :)

Picking it apart like that, I’m glad that the criticism didn’t discourage you, but rather motivated you to change the design to something you love!! I’m definitely in the same boat of “oh no people are critical of (thing) I AM UNLOVED” especially in my low periods, so I feel you HARD on that.
(Ever think about doing “season” color palettes for Chima? Like how she looks in cooler months or something? That’s always a fun trope I like to experiment with)

Actually yes! Chiima has had a winter coat for several years now! x'D http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15129514/ this is how it looks currently (just a colour over of my old ref lmaooo)
they shouldn't but I have a problem with needing external validation LOL Plus I think the criticisms made me realize that I wasn't totally happy with her design as it was anyways so I think it was a good thing that it made me think and then gave me the push I needed to redesign a bit :)
Oh you did??~ Hmm, actually I'm not at all surprised remembering the poetic wording of some of your posts.~ Hmhm, it's kind of hard to imagine you in a drawing slump with how vast your gallery is though x3 I'm committing to draw more, just bought two sketch books, but well...we'll see how it goes
