Hello everyone! I've been working a bit more on this dragon species of mine, and have a few more adopts up for grabs! I hope to have a bigger sheet up soon describing some of their key features and possible variations!
______________
ABOUT THE SPECIES:
These are shapeshifting insectoid dragons, also known as "jewel-nymphs", or Draconis arthroderma.
Their kind sport an exoskeleton of shining, iridescent scales over highly flexible muscles and a skeleton made up mostly of cartilage. Their strange jointed hides can move to rearrange most of their body into any shape they please (with practice) as long as it’s the same in mass. Some parts of their bodies (like their horns, wings, and claws) are too rigid to change the shape of, so those will exist in any form they take.
These dragons are one of the smaller species, about the size of an average human, and favor a diet of fish and other small prey. They make their homes in rich environments and can sometimes be seen perched on limbs of trees that overhang the water, using their heavy curved claws for a secure hold as they stretch down to strike at passing fish. It’s presumed that the glinting of their scales attracts their meals.
Some of them may be seen sporting a long mane of gossamer fibers, often indicating status, as a dragon who can afford the inconvenience clearly holds a territory rich enough that they don’t need to go far to hunt.
In years past, jewels who were curious about the rise of humankind learned to take their shapes, and the first ones encountered were said to be treated as ambassadors of the gods, for how brightly their hides shine. In the present day, the humanoid shape is largely a convenience to aid in diplomacy and trade, though some have shed the practice of taking this shape completely.
Legends say that rich veins of precious metal and gemstones are ancient graves of their kind, as they bleed a substance that looks very much like liquid metal.

ABOUT THE INDIVIDUALS:
1 - Gilded Obsidian - Strong and hardy, obsidian jewels are born to fight. They're usually a fair bit larger than the more delicate or earthy lines, and may prefer the more treacherous deep waters for hunting. They're highly protective of their own, and don't tend to get along very well with humans, though there are always exceptions for those who prove themselves.
2 - Gilded Jade - Viewed as a herald of good luck, jade jewels often work their ways into high positions within human societies. Nearly anything they would want for is offered to them if they learn to pull the right strings, but they remain fierce creatures who are more than able to fend for themselves should they be crossed.
3 - Harlequin Jasper -[/b] Jasper jewels may not glitter like their highborn cousins, but they make up for it with fantastic patterns and colors. Far from mysterious, jaspers prefer to make themselves known, integrating with most other species rather easily. Displays of strength (whether or not they can back them up) are important to them.
_______________
Each design is $195 USD.
Adopters will get the FULL ART of both humanoid and dragon forms in their own separate sheets with color swatches to serve as reference. The original PSD will also be provided with layers intact to make any future edits easier.
