So... This had been in progress for a very long time. Well before I switched accounts. Well before my dog Sammy passed away. Back when she had to have her tail amputated because of an infection. The emergency surgery needed funding, and many of you kind folk helped out by donating funds.
I worked on this for many months in between commissions, struggling to get it right. Unfortunately I was never able to finish it before she passed.... Now it's too hard to work on without thinking about her.
I never got to finish putting in the plushes, but most of them are there. The only other major depiction missing is of Sam herself. I was meant to be holding a plush while she tugged on it. She loved plushies. They were her favorite toys.
It was meant to be a thank you to all the people who donated.
I don't think it will ever be finished, but I will post this here now that I can look at it again.
Standing characters from left to right.
Kadrain, Skywize (dragon), Wolfbeast, Canis-Aureus, Syng, Talu, Vrghr Dragonwolf, Murashu .

Plushies depicted in no particular order.

Small - Ty_The_Fox, Meimei, Bear, City, Kamuniak, Dirus, Lionel, Cohassat.
There were also a lot of plushies I didn't get to depict.

I honestly had no idea you were working on this and it's a nice surprise!
I can definitely relate to it being too hard to work on after her passing. I've only just now recovered from my own loss after more than a year to the point where I enjoy looking at photographs of Adam again.

Its truly hard when one of our furred family has to leave us. Their time with us is always too short, no matter how long it might be. Yet they pack so much love and life into that time, that it hurts all the more when we're left without it. We never completely get over the loss of that loving presence in our daily lives, but time eventually blunts the sharp edges of it.
On the drawing - - Vrghr had no idea you were working on this. It's really delightful, even in the current phase of creation. Wuff had to laugh at how you'd depicted Vrghr there, diving into the cake! Perfect rendition of the nom-wuff! *LAUGHS* But never fear, wuff would invite you all over for a Vrghr-cooked feast to apologize for his cake greed.
Thank you for posting this, and for your work on it.

"Yet living and dying, honor and dishonor, riches and poverty, and so forth are equally the lot of good beings and bad. These things neither elevate nor degrade; and therefore they are no more good than they are evil... One can lose neither the past nor the future; for how can one take from them that which is not theirs? So remember these two points: first, that each thing is of like form from everlasting and comes round again in its cycle, and second, that the longest lived and the shortest lived, when they come to die, lose one and the same thing." -Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 2.11-14 (paraphrased)
