Unfortunately I don't think the free-to-see-art-after-a-year-packs is updated on Cushypen it seems to stop after 2015. Unless its like a rotation kind of thing were years available to download are available only at certain times.

SO TLDR they have limited IP licensing on the art for a year as per your contract with them, then you are free to repost, that is a neat model. Good on you Star for broadening your horizons ^_^

I was a member of cushypen for a few years way back when. Never subbing to them again. Severely disappointed with the lack of content and the almost draconian way that they treat customers is abysmal; and since it's the only paysite for ABDL they can do whatever the hell they want to their customers and nobody will bat an eye because where else will they get diaper porn?

Sorry star, Not happening for me ever. Hopefully another, better site will come along and bat cushypen off the edge. I'll still look for your art on FA tho, and I'm happy you get the opportunity.

Congratulations on your membership to cushy pen, its a real testament to your talent that you have been invited to work for a paysite. I always enjoyed your content and I am glad you are being rewarded for it. I only hope that at least some of your content still makes it to the free sites.

Cushypen is a rather good site, although I'm not one to visit it XD I am wondering thoguh, when you say the image is released later on, does it get released onto here or cushypen?

it's a great thing you got to work for cushypen. but... on a customer viewpoint, it doesn't seems a good market strategy for a short target public.

Think of it like this.

I do a lot of private commissions. Work that will never see beyond the commissioners file on their computer. I've still put in the work but it won't ever be shared to anyone else but that one person.

Cushypen is a bit like that. I draw them one picture a month that lives on their website for a year and then I'm allowed to post it here on Facebook or wherever I want. So they don't keep exclusivity forever just a while. So this time next year people here will start getting the art I've been posting in the site. Which is better than the stuff hidden away as private commissions forever

i understand, but i'm speaking on a comissioner viewpoint. why would i pay for have access to see a picture that will be free to see in one year, when i can support some artists on patreon, see exclusive pics there and receive rewards for each tier from each artist i'm supporting?

it's just that cushypen is unique on it's business model, but i only see it worth for it artists there, while patreon it works better for artists, that receive an ammount each month for each subscriber AND for the ones that support there, as they can get way more things than on cushypen.

nothing against cushypen or anyone that likes or is part of it its not ssomething that calls my attention

well.. sadly is not as simple... patreon only works for super popular artists, they are the ones getting decent amounts. little ones will have more luck on sites like cushypen where things are more static and you shre spotlight with a few other artists on a site where people is there just ot see your type of contect so they will get to you eventually even if you're not as pospular... in patreon nobody will get to you if you're not already popular, and in page s like FA, you're competing with an infinite amount of artists that can be more or less popular/experienced/skilled than you and not every viewer of the page is there to see your type of content, so you get swallowed by the big sea of not interested visitors and more interesting/popular artists (and end in the shadows), that's what happen with little artists (and it afect even in a negative view to commissioners, cause you will never be able to find those artists... there are a lot of unknown cool artists we don't know about, they could even have awesome prices and draw exactly the content we want, but we will proably never know, specially if they don't invest a lot of time on marketing themselves (something most people don't do, and even if they do they could still end in the shadows, is like living in the wild jungle. XD))

At the end of the day, it depends on the strategy of every artist and their personal business model. ^^

Also to note one quick item, Think of it this way. If you pay for Cushy Pen, you are not just getting Artwork from Star one year in advance, you are getting a REPOSITORY of a number of individuals artwork all at once. It is a targeted approach to give ease of access to a lot of consumers. I myself found star on another site before she migrated over here away from there. If not for that I would never have seen her work.

Cushy Pen is a medium like that wherein people can find artists on there through the repository due to it's focused content intention and move from there. I wouldn't be here on Fur Affinity if it weren't for Star honestly, I am not a fur myself but the STORY of Shine is truly enthralling and I just want to see the next panes and keep enjoying the experience of reading it. Any way, rambling aside I have said my piece, hope everyone has a good day that is still reading! lol

Cushypen is basically a patreon account with more people and strings attached. I have no issue with this. I really emphasis that it is like a patreon account where you are paying them to draw stuff they want to draw.

But I'm not going to act as if Cushypen doesn't end up giving out a lot of.. Bad vibes, I'll call them.

I've got mixed feelings about the cushy pen, but i'm not gonna tell you you should or shouldn't use them. if this is something that works for you, then by all means rock it out ^^

as an artist you must experiment a little sometimes in terms of platforms to see what works for you. and not everyone has the same needs so what is good for one person may not work for another, and vice versa.

Yeah I would never leave here. It's my favourite place. So I'm not going anywhere or anything. So far folk there have generally been kind to me. I don't really know any of the history of the site or anything so it's been intriguing seeing people's reaction here. And goodness the amount of notes I've had saying "sorry you're leaving" I'm honest to goodness not going anywhere. It's just one pic a month being posted somewhere else for a little while

i think there art policy is lame who wants to wate a whole year before they post there art on other sites?

Look as I've said lots....cushy pen gets 1 image a month from me. That's it. Shine will still be here everything else will still be here just they're basically commissioning me to draw one image for them a month that's all. Nothing here has changed.
