Ok i'm going to play Devil's advocate(eh ) here.
The angels do have some reason. BEFORE pelting me with stones let me explain!
The squad that attacked aiden were of course in the wrong, obviously so.
BUT.
Is NOT racism, because Aiden was not BORN demon, apparently in this world Nether/demons is more like joining a gang/cult/Nazi party, or better is perceived as such(before fan get angry).
As the judge pointed out, Aiden CHOOSe to become a nether. One coudl argue that he was kind of tircked and was not full informed on the consequences and implication of becoming a Nether(hell even us readers don't know shit, why they are so hated, do Nether do REALLy evil thigns and so many asssume that all are evil? We don't know...many defender of Nether abse on just TWO of them we saw, but what if majority of them are power hungry bastard?). Still so far the trial has not seen anythign to prove aiden's point. They don't know him as we readers do, for them he is just a Nether, a demon, they have absolutely no idea if he is guilty or not, at this point. And when you are accused of somethings, just saying "i'm innocent" is nto enough. That's why exist a trial.
Boiled down...
This si a young man that unwisely joined a group of people who have VERY bad fame, that is hated(for some reason we need to know...but they are called demons so forgive me if i doubt is jaywalking), that has a group of enemies they are in cold war relations, and now he found himself in a situation WAY over his head. If he is guilty of somethign is dumbness, but that does not means all the angels are mean and evil and all the demons are good.
So far we don't knwo jackshit and we just now are learning how this world work.
