Big Stone Beach's south side. Old pictures recording erosion here show a loss of about two feet of sand in just the last few years from under these houses. You can see where its starting to undermine the closer one. Most of the houses on the south side though, are safely on land. Even here there is evidence of other houses, old pilings and wires protruding from the sand. Though there isn't as much rubble, so its likely the disappeared homes from the south side were torn down over time as they were damaged by storms or undermined by the waves. Most of the remaining houses are on the other side of the road, safely away from the sea.
