Some more concept sketches for my post apocalyspe world.

Deliwe and Hlengiwe were born as runts, which is pretty much a death sentence in most hyena tribes, and were abandoned and left to die in the wasteland. Deliwe was found by slavers not long after while Hlengiwe was found by a merchant caravan and dropped off at an orphanage since they could not keep her, however not even a year later the corrupt orphanage sold her off to the same band of slavers that had found Deliwe. As they grew up the two runts stuck together with Hlengiwe becoming ever more protective of the mute Deliwe, this caused her to take the brunt of the punishment after the pair of them were sold to a lion couple as household servants.

They were eventually found and rescued by the Outcastes, who had to trade fuel and ammo for them, but the years of abuse and malnutrition had left their mark on the pair and they seemed to be more of a burden than anything as they were only about half the size as normal for hyenas and didn't have any useful skills. Tough in time it turned out the pair were actually quite the shot, first with their self made slingshots and later with handguns, and were eventually trained as the second recon sniper team for the Outcastes. They've been an asset to the Outcastes since then with rapidly growing respect from even the more traditional hyenas who shunned the pair of runts, as even those could not deny that the two of them saved a lot of the actual fighter's lives with their skilled shots. Deliwe was soon given the nickname, Quiet, due to her being mute, and Hlengiwe earned the name Grunt as she doesn't speak much and tends to just reply in grunts and growls.

Being shorter their weapons tend to be custom made or altered like much of their equipment, which they've learned to build and maintain on their own, as such both always carry a toolbox along and are quite resourceful in jerry rigging weapons and traps. Also among their equipment are their trusty slings and spear as last resort weapons and hunting weapons, and not shown here they both tend to wear grass cloaks not unlike a ghillie suit. Hlengiwe also carries emergency medical supplies since years of binding her own wounds after beatings made her a fairly capable field medic (with some additional training.)
