I don’t actually know if he knows that or if he just wants to go to sleep without someone kicking his kidneys. Sometimes when I need dialogue I just sorta channel the character and that’s what Mort wanted to say here.

Nope. AFAIK Mort does have that bodily function but he burns it all to ash anyway. Wouldn't want to warn potential prey there's a GIANT PREDATOR in the neighborhood. He's also an intelligent predator. Why mark territory with something as prosaic and noticable as bodily wastes when you can just burn demonsigns into the tree trunks?
