Cold pelting rain slammed against the ground, leaving small indentations in the loose soft dirt. The low rumble of thunder alerted everyone within earshot of the present storm, and the flashes of lightning split the sky, illuminating everything, but only for a second. Montgomery sat by his steed, Redrum, listening to the sounds of nature and feeling the rain slowly drip off him. Redrum stood quietly, only the sound of his breathing drowning out the rain. Standing up, Montgomery mounted up before trotting down the trail, away from the familiar town of Strawberry.
