This is a MiG-21 (NATO code name Fishbed) in Slovak Air Force colors. The beast was being towed from the Warbirds area to another area (if you look closely, there's no pilot in the cockpit).

We used to have somebody ride towed birds just in case something happened and you'd like to be able to lock the brakes on the bird.

I have to wonder if Slovakia still uses these. They are still rather prevalent in the Balkans, from what I know. ^__^

Back in the mid-60s, when the F-4 Phantom II sold for $2.5 million, the MiG-21 could be had for $750,000 and could go almost as fast.
