Next to the Nieuport 17, we have a bit of Great War weaponry. If I recall (front to back):

1. 30-caliber Lewis light machine gun

2. 30-caliber Browning infantry machine gun, water-cooled.

3. Browning adapted for use on the planes (no interrupter gear shown).

That is, indeed, a Lewis in the front (with a high-capacity magazine).

The one on the tripod is a Browning Model M2 ('Ma Deuce') in .50 caliber. The one in the back -- I'm not so sure, but it looks a little like the Maxim MG08/15 (the Germans used 'em).

I didn't take a good look at the third one, but it looked like it was set up for planes (no pintle, no stock, air cooling etc.).

Yep. Until the Fokker interrupter gear came out, shooting yourself down was a real threat.
