Touched up some sketches I liked and made a bestiary over the animals we have seen so far in the comic.
For those who would like to know something more about them, extra info is down below!
:Tidekiller:
Vicious predator on a constant migration, traveling from the oceans and up the north river in Baramor,
emptying the rivers for anything edible as they travel. For these guys, almost anything is fair game, as particular large specimens have been known to attack humans.
They live alone their whole life, except in spawning seasons, where they travel up to the north part of the rivers to breed.
Their meat is foul tasting, so the fishers of the river can´t even target them for profit when they pass by.
So whenever a fisher sees a tidekiller, they rail in their lures for the day, and wait for them to pass.
:Terrawalker:
These slow but stedy giants are the workhorse of the Baramorian people,
used to pull wagons, passengers and rescourses, as well as heavy plowing of the earth and other heavy work.
They are very docile and can be commanded by a single person with only a little training, and are able to traverse large distances without getting tired,
but must be allowed to rest after certain intervals, as it is possible to walk the creature to death if one is not careful.
For wagon pulling, holes are drilled into the creatures thick carapace to attract reigns to. "this does not hurt the animal at all"
>:Giant cave spider:
Residing in deep caves, these creatures are not very pleasant to run into if you are a person.
They wont try to eat a person " perhaps a small child"
But they will rather attack, than run away from a possible invader.
They do so by tossing their web-net on a person to confuse them, and will then repeatedly stab "poke" at their invader with their
long and sharp front legs.
They are patient ambush predators, sitting poised on the ceiling of caves and will wait months for prey to pass by.
:Sikreel:
A common ground-bird found in many places of Baramor, varying from the plains to the forest.
Although a ground-bird, it can take a short flight to escape predators.
The Sikreel prefers to be in small groups together, and will be visible depressed if alone for too long.
However, if raised alone and given attention, A Sikreel is perfectly fine alone.
This has escalated to people having Sikreels as companion animals as well as raising expensive beauty competetive breeds.
It´s feathers are highly sought after by scholars, as they believe their largest tail feathers are a source of luck.
:Maned jackal:
The Baramorian people to the east have only recently begun to domesticate these "wolves of the plains"
Breeding them both for guard dutys and as light mounts.
It is stated that they can travel in two ways, one being a fast run in a short distance and the jackal will need
rest after such bursts. However, their second way of traveling, is a much more conservative way. Running with a light trot to their pace, they can
travel like this for long distances, even with a light-weight person on their back.
The wild maned jackals live in families up to 8 animals, with an alpha male and female leading the pack.
The animal is very intelligent, and requires a determined trainer, even from birth. But if gained, their loyalties are invaluable.
Due to their difficult upbringing, the maned jackal is still only present in the north-east part of Baramor.
