As for mechanical things, I enjoy painting with metalics more. Although non metalics photograph better, I prefer how metalics look in real life. There is a painting technique called Non-Metalic Metals where you use a variety of non-metalic colours to make a metalic effect. They look amazing from one direction, but any other direction they look off, like they have been photoshopped in afterwards.

I could paint things which are mostly non-metalic (as though the armour was painted in a matt colour) but... I prefer metalics at the moment, so I want to paint more metalicy things

Lookin' good, I'm excited to get my hands on some of these, bet they'd make great conversion kits.

Woah, yeah those are some cool images. I thought construction suit or like, civilian dreadnought when I first saw em. With those that inspired you, with the green stuff dome, replace that with a plastic dome and fit a marine/guard/whatever inside and that'd look rad. I've seen people do that with those castelan Ad Mech robots might try that myself!
