i love the rawness of it. like i think i can still see your guidelines and contour lines mixed in with the chaos! it never occured to me to use an unrefined style on PURPOSE to give it a unique edge.

Stumbled onto the effect completely by accident, but my usual drawing style fits really well with this look. :D It helps that construction tends to be based off skeletal structure, so the guide lines just happen to end up being in the right place. The contours are deliberately added in this style, which is having the happy side effect of making me think more about the 3d shapes of the characters. Bonus improvement opportunity! :3

i really should try this sometime. my hands are too rigid when i draw which leads to nice smooth lines but not a lot of movement. this more scribbly style lends to a lot of shape and softness that i lack.

When I realised my inking was just frustrating me and lowering the quality of my work, I just dropped the linework stage entirely. I'd argue it's a necessary step for one going down a professional track, but for someone like me who just draws for fun, removing parts that weren't fun made a huge difference to my output :3
