Well, this is what I manage to bring to TFF 2019. Glad to finish just enough to cover the foam but wish I could have done so much more but time wasn't on my side.
I wore it several times at the con including the raves and fursuit parade. It held up pretty well, just one of the ears beginning to tear at the back where it attaches to the head. I was quite rough with it with the ears floppy around like mad during my crazy so-called dancing so not bad I guess. A bit of hot glue and it was good as new.
As for the future, I'll definitely add the fangs. It looks weird without it. I should have stuck even paper cardstock ones in there. It would have looked so much better I think. Next it the tongue and horns. The eyes I'll probably leave for now though I want better ones eventually. I might tame the lower jaw a little. It looks a little too thick at the front. We'll see.
I also need to swap out the boring tan fleece with a nice golden-tan if I can find it. I want the fabric to have the same (or close) sheen to it like the greenish-teal one. I can add some sort of pleats to the neck, chest, and belly area. I'll probably just sew around filler panels to get that raised effect.
As for the rest of the fursuit, I'll need to make the paws and tail. The full bodysuit will come later. I plan on attending Alamo City Furry Invasion (ACFI) in early October and I hope to get at least the complete partial done by then. The full would be awesome but I don't know if I can make that in time. This is my first time doing a fursuit so I am playing it by ear.
All in all, I am happy to get something for TFF. I certainly fun wearing it. At first I couldn't see all that well and got rather hot. But the more I wore it, the better I could move around and getting used to the heat. Plus I am starting to develop my character. I found that moving my head side to side while "walking" help with the blind spot in the middle of my vision. I also bob my head slightly and lightly crouch down during the walks also brings my into character of being a silly dragon. I should really be into it by ACFI. See you there. Muwhahahaha!
