Football's Coming Home
While FA was down, the draw for the 2010 soccer World Cup was held, and it turns out that England are going to play the USA in a competitive game for the first time since 1950! Well, this sparks a bit of friendly rivalry in the football-loving Squirrel household (although Zee-Zee doesn't care who wins, he just likes watching with his parents) ^.^
Zena: Go America! We can win this time!
Zed: Wanna bet? Loser has to change Zee-Zee's diapers for a month!
Zee-Zee: Hey!
Zed: Oops. Not diapers, I mean...
Zena: Daddy gets over-excited when he's watching football. That was the bet we had last time, when you were still in diapers, sweetie.
Zee-Zee: Silly Daddy. I'm a big squirrel now, remember!
Zed: I could never forget that, champ. *kisses the top of his head* How about a different bet? The winner gets to take Zee-Zee to the big toy store in the city and buy him something nice!
Zee-Zee: Yaaaaay!

I know it probably is still something that confuses those who don't know of it...
Meaning how soccer is known as football there (Which actually is THEE original form of "football" anyway). And, American football (Which is actually derived from something that happened during a Rugby game over there, when a player decided to pick up the ball and run with it, according to an encyclopedia of mine I gots around the house here).
Either way... American football or the UK equivilent... me likees. *Nods* Particularly when it's drawn by a
favourite wittle Brit squirrel. (Complete with the UK spelling on favorite, no less). ^.^ *Giggles*

*shakes head firmly* Nope! No more changes for this big squirrel! Well, except maybe just sometimes, but hardly ever! Not enough to bet on!
Heehee, don't tell Zee-Zee, but since diapers can hold a few wettings before they need changing, but pull-ups can only take one accident, he probably needs as many changes now as he did last year ^.^

What an interesting development. There's nothing like a little friendly competition amidst family members to get everyone in the house all excited over a big event.
Kudos on your dialogue between Zee and his parents. Adding that to the picture really tripled the cuteness factor of the work. Then again, *grabs a broken record* you always do have such a way of portraying happy moments of childhood. *Puts the record back and smiles bashfully* Gaboo! :)
